Some people might call him crazy or stupid, and maybe validly so from a fiscal perspective, but no one can ever call him dishonest, or lacking integrity. This guy deserves credit for believing in an honest days pay for an honest day of work. Not many believe in that anymore. I bet he'll sleep real good at night for the rest of his life knowing he did what he believed was right.
