Anyone going to the game, take notice. Route 1 Southbound is currently closed:

AERIAL VIDEO: Serious Crash on Route 1 Causing Major Traffic Delays

A serious motor vehicle crash is having a major impact on traffic on Route 1 in Wrentham, Massachusetts.

Massachusetts State Police said the accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on Route 1, just south of GIllette Stadium in Foxboro. The traffic flow has been seriously impeded, and drivers are being urged to seek alternate routes.
Route 1 southbound is now closed, and traffic is being diverted onto Route 140. A medical helicopter is on its way to the scene. Three lanes for northbound traffic have been opened.

Aerial footage shows a tractor trailer and at least one other vehicle that were involved in the crash. The second vehicle appears to have been totalled.
The New England Patriots are hosting the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, meaning thousands of fans will be making their way to the stadium. Heavy traffic was already being anticipated due to the game.

Wow. That looks horrible. Prayers for all involved and their families.

Yikes, hope everyone involved ends up okay. Medivacs are scary stuff.

Folks, look for alternate routes.

Route 1 southbound is currently closed.

One person seriously injured, no death reported so far, thankfully.

The site of the accident is in Wrentham on rt 1, so that's southbound going away from the stadium, and so it won't really affect game traffic for the most part.

Medvac.....ugh.

Have you ever passed an accident scene in Mass before? There will be serious rubber-necking, and with the southbound lane essentially closed they will likely split the northbound lane to allow traffic. It would be a good night to park further away and walk, IMO (not that I am going).

Finger crossed for the health of all involved.

I live 20 minutes from the stadium.

Reports are that Southbound 1 is closed. The accident is "just south" of the stadium so that might still affect folks coming in from the north.

Listen to your radios or get GPS traffic info on your phones now.

Oy. I already had to leave late. Hope everyone is ok.

Aerial shot on WCVB shows the SUV roofless (appears they used the Jaws to facilitate extrication) with extensive damage on right side but drivers side relatively intact. If there was any occupant on passenger side (front or rear) they are seriously hurting, if the driver was alone the prospects look much better. Here's hoping the injuries are not as severe as first appearances might indicate.

Wow, all personnel must have done yeoman work this afternoon to get that all cleared away so quickly. Still will be a lot of backups, but good that all lanes are now open.

Prayers to all involved.

All lanes open Route 1 in Wrentham following earlier crash. Crash remains under investigation.
