Had the Jets won, they would've been destroyed by the Saints, whereas the Colts are very likely to beat the Saints. That's just how things match-up.
I hate the Jets as much as any Patriot fan, but if I have to choose between the Jets harmlessly winning an AFC championship to get embarrassed in the Super Bowl or Peyton and the Goobers winning a 2nd ring, gee, let me think that one over.
I don't see the Dolts winning the Stuperbowl this year. New Orleans has a damned fine team, and, more importantly, wants the win far more than Goober and the blue man group do.
It took 6 fumbles with 2 inside the redzone for the Aints to have a shot at beating the Vikings. Not to mention it happened in the superdome
I wouldn't be surprised if Brees passes out from the pressure and Manning dissects the defense
I'm with you here, Jangles. The Colts held the Jets to under 90 yds rushing, go figure. If the Colts can make the Saints 1 dimensional, it could be long day for the Saints. The Jets sacked Manning twice with a very aggressive game plan...don't know if the Saints can be that effective. Manning with 4 receivers may just be too much for the Saints to handle.
All but one of those fumbles, I believe, were FORCED by New Orleans. Those guys were slapping, and punching at the ball constantly. The Dolts are going to be in for a VERY long day, and I have no expectations of them walking away as winners.
Whiners, for sure, but winners? Not a chance.
The point is that it took all those turnovers, the biggest home field advantage in the NFL, several interesting calls, no challenge on an obvious "down before breaking the goal line" and an injured Favre for them to put up a prayer field goal in OT
They stand no chance
