No, I was actually referring to the number of injuries that hit this backfield last year.

Right, but even with all those injuries BJGE still only got 26 carries all year.

No, I was actually referring to the number of injuries that hit this backfield last couple years.

And even then, BJGE can't make it onto the field. If they keep 5, which I could definitely see happening, I really doubt that BJGE will be #5.

Well it looks like White torn his Achilles so will be gone for the whole year now. It was conceivable they could have gotten through the first 4 games without him but now it's a different story.

This leaves Denver with the following RB's
Knowshon Moreno (Held out of Preseason due to Injury)
Correll Buckhalter (Career Injury Prone)
Bruce Hall (Career Practice Squad Player)
Lance Ball (Career Practice Squad Player)
Spencer Larsen (FB)

I think this may qualify as one of the worst backfields in the league. I think McDaniels would be happy to get someone he has familiarity with like BJGE or Maroney.

And what makes you so sure that BJGE is better than Hall or Ball? Either one of those guy is likely worth more to Denver than he is.

Faulk
Taylor
Morris
LaMa

Thre'll be a dozen RBs > The Firm released in the next 24 hours;
so if Bill wants to keep a 5th, there'll be plenty from which to choose.

I'm not sure if any of you heard this conversation with Fred Taylor earlier on Dale & Holley. I realize Fred Taylor isn't making the decisions, but I'm guessing he knows more about being a successful NFL running back, and about the other current members of the RB squad than anyone else here.

Here's the link
Fred Taylor, Patriots RB on WEEI

The section in particular starts at 10:50 into the discussion.

Does it mean he's right? Does it guarantees anything? No of course not, but he sounds sincere in his comments and you might want to think twice before assuming BJGE is an automatic goner. I'm just sayin'.

agreed. However the 5th RB has to play all the special teams like BJGE does as well.

I say the Pats will go with five running backs.

With that many older guys it makes more sense to go with five rather than four.

BJGE is a regular on special teams even if he gets few carries.

OK, so... do we have SIX RB's even after the cutdown? Someone getting traded?

My count: Faulk, Morris, Taylor, Maroney, BJGE, Chris Taylor (?)

Zat right?

Pats keep 5 including BJGE and Maroney. That should guarantee another dozen BJGE/Maroney threads throughout the season:bricks:
