Blaming McDaniels for the loss of Brady? Because he called a play where Faulk blocked the defender perfectly (yes, Faulk knocked the defender to the ground), but the guy was able to get off the ground and lunge at Brady hitting him in the knee. I know people on this board want to blame McDaniels for everything that goes wrong with the team, but really.

    I like Felger's response:

If that was the third dumbest, I can only image what the first two were.

It wasn't Faulk in the game it was Sammy Morris that was in and failed to meet the blitzer at the line. The injury was Morris's fault, he let the defender penetrate deep into the pocket instead of stepping up and meeting him at the line. At that point once the defnder was down he should have burried him into the turf but he blocked softly.

The first two were probably made by Felger himself...

    A) It was Morris, Faulk was suspended.

    B) Morris didn't block Bernard Pollard, Pollard cut Morris' knees and THEN lunged at Brady.

Replay is in my sig. Pollard should be suspended forever!!

EDIT: Or WAS in my sig. Those bastids removed the proof!!

I don't care where Morris met him, the defender cut Morris' knees. Bernard Pollard does not know how to do anything except cut the knees.

I haven't had the opportunity to listen to him recently, but Felger seems to be completely different in his columns on weei.com than he was a year ago. Not sure if that's because the expectations are so different, spygate is dead and buried, or if he's actually still playing the part of the contrarian - but rather than being contrary to the homers, he's now being contrary to the doom-and-gloomers.

Sorry, my bad about Morris. I try to block the memory from my mind.

It wasn't Morris' fault. The RB who stays back to block typically takes on the defender beyond the the line because his responsibility is to take the first guy through the line. You really cannot blame Morris for the injury.

Trade Brady might actually be unbeatable as number 1. If that was #2, number 1 must be a whopper. It must have been in the "Belichick is a horrible coach and a product of Brady and is now going to be exposed as the same moron from Cleveland" variety. But even then I think it may not be as dumb as trade Brady.

Felger is different because he isn't responsible to generate rating for his radio show anymore. He learned from Borges. Both he and Borges created characters to be irrational contrarians because the more they were hated the more people read/listened to them. I bet Borges' columns that blast Belichick get significantly more read than ones that are pro-Patriots.

Felger was the guy who used to take on Borges and Cafardo when they were trashing Belichick for dissing their favorite players (Bledsoe and Terry Glenn). He was regarded on par to what Mike Reiss is now back in the early part of this decade. It was quite clear the Borges Jr. persona was an act.
