It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I always thought teams should try the occasional Hail Mary during the course of the game, especially if it's, say, 3rd and 15 or longer. Hail Mary's rarely work because teams know how to defend against it, but if the defense isn't expecting it, I think it would be a tough play to defend.Inspired by the threat with a similar title, except instead of specific plays that have happened, lets talk about the plays themselves? Which ones do you find well-designed and effective? Which ones do you groan whenever you see the team on TV try and use?
I like: A good counter run by a talented cutback runner.
I ******* loathe: The Fullback Draw. Weis had such an affinity for running that in short yardage situations with Marc Edwards and it drove me batty. I hate that play so much.
Linebackers covering that far out of position is comical enough, but it's even more fun when it's a nose tackle that gets torched. My favorite is when Vereen shifts out to WR, and the defense is left utterly clueless as to what to do. It's fun watching linebackers try to cover 30 yards downfield.
