Every week we talk at great length about matchups, gameplans, personnel concerns, and predictions. We discuss the challenges a player like Welker presents, while also mentioning the comparable nightmares Gronk must inflict on the opponents.
What often gets overlooked (for good reason I suppose), is that in every game there is something that happens that no one saw coming. Sometimes it's just a play here or there that is so bizarre you'd never account for it in a pregame analysis. The Butt Fumble is a great example of this, as anyone who said prior to that game, "Sanchez will run full steam into his own lineman's arse, drop the ball, then lay dejected on the ground while Steve Gregory runs it into the endzone," would have become my new personal God.
Sometimes it's more macro than that, such as Talib completely shutting down Jimmy Graham. Even those who thought he might be asked to cover Graham didn't predict 0 catches.
So in the spirit of unpredictability, I'm opening the floor here for your unexpected and downright wacky predictions for this game. No rules, no limits, give me something new to break up the tension of the Friday before a tough matchup.
My contribution: In this game, Wes Welker will be covered by Danny Amendola at some point, who will give up six catches for 72 yards, but will produce one interception.
Fire away!
