Ex-Lion Paris Lenon plans to deliver hits, wins by Ron Borges of the Boston Herald

Lenon has his own Kurt Warner-ish story regarding his road to the NFL, though his involved working in a post office rather than a supermarket.

“I knew what I was capable of,” said Lenon, who became a regular in Green Bay in 2005 before moving on to start the past three years in Detroit. “It’s not luck that I’m here. I’ve earned everything I got. I just needed a chance.”

His belief is that one exists here with the Pats, where the linebacker situation is muddled with the loss of Mike Vrabel and decline of Tedy Bruschi. This is a time of change at the position and Lenon dearly wants to be part of it. Whether he can do it or not, no one knows, but anyone who thinks playing for the winless Lions of 2008 disqualifies him had best think again.

“That’s something I’m trying to erase,” Lenon said of the memory of the Lions’ 0-16 season. “It’s hanging over me. The only way to do it is to win football games. This is a very good place to do that.

“You can’t step into a situation and think you’re not going to win or you’re not good enough to play. I think there’s an opportunity here for me. Why wouldn’t I?”

He may be heading back to the P.O. if that injury he sustained today was a serious one,He was seen walking off the field in practice with the medical staff helping him.
