    Tony Dungy on the Pats-Colts: It?s Ali-Frazier

Yesterday on “Movin’ The Chains” on SIRIUS NFL Radio, hosts Shannon Sharpe and Bruce Murray spoke with Indianapolis Head Coach Tony Dungy about this weekend’s match-up between the Colts and Patriots. Sharpe: “If you look at it, it’s not a Super Bowl match-up, but I don’t know if there’s ever been a more anticipated, a more [...]

Well, considering that Dungy's team has done it in the past, and that he's witnessed his team overcome large deficits, it doesn't surprise me that he feels that way. Good coaches understand BB's thinking much more so than irritated, whining fans.

Plus he's not about to say, "yeah he's running up the score and it's classless" less than a week before the Pats play them. That's why he forbade his players from talking about the game until Wednesday, he's afraid they might say something to make the Pats angry bwahahahahaha.:enranged:

Oh really? I beg to differ....

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.

Show me a champion who is as dominant, provocative and socially significant as Ali and I'll concede. Until that day Ali is the greatest athlete who ever lived. I won't be holding my breath.

    Re: Dungy :Ali vs Frazier

    Come on guys.

    Frazier represented the establishment.

Ali was the incredibly talented anti-establishment guy.

How could we NOT be Ali in this analogy?

ALI was not only the greatest athlete of the last Century as voted all around the world but the greatest living Ambassador to the United States of America. He is loved and idoled wherever he goes. God Bless him. Peace.

    Re: Dungy :Ali vs Frazier

I too think Ali was the greatest athlete of all time. Easily the best boxer of all time regardless of weight-class. All the experts have him as the best hands-down...it surely wasn't Rocky Marciano if that's what you're thinkin'...you from Brockton?

    What are you smokin?

I was actually a Joe Frazier fan back in the day (I'm 48). But I've come to love Ali as a boxer, a man and for his courage. He is certainly a great American!

Godzilla vs. Megalodon? Uh, must have missed that one.

    Did he mean Mothra, maybe?

    Can't believe I'm nit-picking about Godzilla movies.

    Re: Dungy :Ali vs Frazier

I stopped likeing Ali when he made fun of Frazier for being "too black" and compaed Frazier's African-appearing features to a gorilla.

Frazier grew up surrounded by poor blacks. Compared to Frazier, young Cassius Clay grew up rich and pampered.

Ali was a great fighter, no doubt about it. I just wish he hadn't acted so white when dealing with Frazier.

    Re: Dungy :Ali vs Frazier

Has to be one of the best, right up there with Jim Brown, Michael Jordan and the best of the best of all time.. he was a great and entertaining fighter, when the fight game had relevance.
