Why can't people admit that Welker was a great player for the Pats and will do well for Denver. Are Edelman or Amendola better? After 2 games, I have no idea.
Welker was consistant. He took a beating and kept coming back. However, if we had Welker and not Edelman, I don't think last night would have been any different.
I'm one of the biggest Edelman fans out there, but just 78 yards on 13 receptions is pretty terrible. It shows that he has great hands, but I expected much more after the catch from him.
Yes, Edelman does offer much more then Welker does now at this point in his career. The Jets did everything they could to try and stop him. They rolled coverage his way, and nothing worked. He still moved the chains and continuously got open. I don't know why its so hard for some people to realize now that this guy is pretty darn good. And I see more explosion in his game now then Welker as mentioned above.
He didn't have a prayer. Edeleman's a strong YAC guy, but once it became clear that he was the only legitimate target in the game, he was SWARMED.
It may be stupid, but I trust my eyes more than my memory. Based on the here and now, I think Edelman offers more. However, I agree with those that say he plays too recklessly and therefore is more likely to get hurt than Welker.
A suggestion: don't waste your time. Anyone who is critical of Edelman's performance last night has an agenda and, as a result, their opinion doesn't count. There was at least one play where Edelman was open downfield and Brady overthrew him. Edelman is far, far from the problem.
Are you saying you think Edelman is better than Welker? I must be misreading this, or you really shouldn't trust your memory.
They DID stop him. His longest catch was 10 yards.
You do realize the Jets were fine with 3 yard completions on 2nd and 10 right?
Needing Edelman to be the primary receiver and watching the result was proof that he can't be the guy.
He should get his 2-3 screens and dump passes a week, return punts and that should be it.
Note that people are saying this is the worst the offense has ever been, and its plan was to make Edleman the focal point. That is not an endorsement.
who is the dark one?
I presume that the OP is referring to Bristol MA's answer to Tuco Salamanca.
Actually, Lord Voldemort is from Bristol, CT—which means the same town is responsible for spawning both one of the dumbest psychopaths ever plus ESPN. Not a good track record. I'd try to go into the Witness Protection Program and start over as a new town somewhere in the middle of nowhere if I were Bristol.
