Do you have faith in Jacoby Brissett winning us at least one of the next 2 games?

Yet another trickle down effect of the suspension. its not just brady missing games but potential of your next QB getting hurt .

I'm in. It's the year of the rookie QB!

Not the best question....but I feel like the TEAM will win one out of the next two games...I think Brissett is capable of being a game manager like cassel....minimizing errors and doing enough offensively to keep it close and let defense win it.....BUT if we have that piss poor D that showed up for most part of today.....show up again we are in trouble....terrible defensive effort today

QUOTE="VectorPrime, post: 4731298, member: 21434"]Everything is in the thread title.

We already have 2 wins which is what most of us had hoped we'd have after 4 weeks. Well now we are in position to do even better but Jimmy getting hurt throws everything off. I really would love for us to get at least a third win before Brady comes back, and against the Texans and Bills at home I think we should be able to do it.

The defense is gonna have to play better than they did today, full stop.[/QUOTE]

Lol at the people hating the defense in the second half when we were up by 28

I am hoping the Texans will be favored to win. Rallying cry of the team, us against the world. Josh McDaniels knows much is on the line and unleashes his full bag of trickery.

The Bills on reflection I think we will handle quite well.

19 and 0 baby Screw them all

They were good in the 1st half. They seemed to get psyched out when Garropolo went down and it became apparent that they were going to have to carry the game.
I was thinking the same thing until it became apparent that the defense's "soft" play was by design -- the ol' "bend but don't break" clock-killin' "keep everything in front of us" zone strategy.

Don't forget how poorly played and messy Thursday night games are.

Josh and bb will do what they can to limit jacobys exposure. We might see Blount carry it 35 times. We might see only screens. We might have both TEs blocking every play.

I don't know if we win, but it will be a grind for Houston. They will have to earn it. Then, you have ten days to prepare for Rex's last game as a head coach, and maybe have jimmy back.

I am not ruling out 4-0, but it won't come easy. If we are, just give BB coach of the year now.

Brisset seems poised and not afraid of plays breaking down. Thar was an aspect of his college team, he was always running because of a poor line.

If he stays poised and doesn't give it away [run or take a sack, if necessary] then we're in any ball game.

You don't want a mess of a game like this but, Brissett stays poised while running for his life and makes good throws and good decisions.

Normally, you'd want him to avoid some bad habits, but for a guy being thrown in their, his history of no line support might help him.

Every play's a fire drill here.

Might have been the case regarding the defense today. Doubt they were counting on Ghost missing that fg though.

You got your wish. Housto giving 2.5.

Good,,,not favorites at home on Thursday means we win. Have a feeling a certain 87 is back. GO PATS

Lots of twin TE sets I would think. Underdogs at home, can't remember the last time this has happened. This team is just scratching the surface of what its capable of. The offense will be there when we get our personnel back (TB, Gronk, Lewis). I'd like to see the defense get better though, definitely room for improvement there.

I'm surprised by the lack of playing time for Cyrus Jones and Valentine against MIA, or was that just me?

(A) Is JG definitely out for Thursday? Seems likely but is it certain? (B) We know too little about JB/have FAR too little data to draw even a wild guess conclusion on how well he can operate the passing O for 60 minutes against a tough pro defense.
JG had 2 years of experience within the Patriots' organization yet, even as good as he played in 1.5 games, he still has not defined what level he can play at consistently. So while it's certainly in the realm of possibility JB will come out and be JG Deux (a ++ substitute for TB) it's unlikely. The most likely scenario is the wins will have to come by way of superior coaching-tightly controlled play calling-heavily complimentary football team type win (certainly nothing wrong with that). It's asking too much of the 22 year old, 3rd string, few reps, new to the playbook, new to a Patriot style passing O to come in and run this offense potently.

Bottom line: let's see what JB can do. If he takes care of the ball/doesn't turn it over as well as moves the chains a sufficient number of times that enables a win by 1 (or 20) then he is rock solid in my book.

Anything can happen in a short week, I think JB could win this weeks game but the defense will have to play a lot better than they did in the second half. It would really help if Gronk could play

It sounds like there is no way he plays Thursday, I would bet he will play against the Bills but that's far from certain

I absolutely have faith in the kid, based on:
1) seeing him play
2) the mere decision that he was taken by NE
3) comes recommended
4) our coaching staff's ability to game plan week to week
5) the fact that he is a bit of an unknown (i choose to believe this is a positive).

The game plan will be tailored to JB's strengths and On Thursday we will compete. I for one am gonna give the kid a chance and am looking forward to watching him play on Thursday.

The coaches will have him as ready as can be.

I am more worried about the defenses psyche. Jimmy was not on the field for those 24 comeback points. They better tighten up or good teams will have their way with us.

JB?....he'll be ready...
