It's easy, and only takes a few moments. So it's only a matter of time until he gets two injuries that he has absolutely no history of. Thank you for offering up such a thought-provoking and grounded opinion - this is the kind of brilliant, insightful analysis that I come to patsfans for.
He also had no history of groin pulls yet here we are. Amendola is a walking injury waiting to happen.

It seems absurd that some people are willing to write off a player 2 games into a 5 year contract.

Tavon The Error Repeater Wilson...and that's just the tip of that iceberg.
So if Florida gets blasted by a hurricane and then hit by a violent earthquake your logic would be that it's due for a volcanic eruption?
I am actually surprised some posters used such restraint to actually wait until two games into his Patriots career to write him off.
Danny Amendola (groin), Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm) and running back Brandon Bolden were among the seven players listed as “limited” for the Patriots at Wednesday’s practice.
For the second straight practice session, Amendola was spotted on the field going through drills with his teammates. During the portion of practice the media is allowed to observe, he could be seen working gingerly through a series of drills, clearly not at full speed.
Amendola, Bolden and Gronkowski were part of a limited list that also included offensive linemen Dan Connolly (finger) and Will Svitek (knee) defensive back Nate Ebner (ankle) and running back Leon Washington (thigh).
As expected, the only two missing were cornerback Marquice Cole (not injury related) and special teamer Matthew Slater (wrist). It was reported that Cole was absent because of the birth of his child, while Slater’s wrist injury is expected to keep him on the shelf for multiple weeks.
Here’s the complete report:
Did Not Practice
CB Marquice Cole (not injury related)
ST Matthew Slater (wrist)
Limited Participation
WR Danny Amendola (groin)
RB Brandon Bolden (knee)
OL Dan Connolly (finger)
DB Nate Ebner (ankle)
TE Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm)
OL Will Svitek (knee)
RB Leon Washington (thigh)
Full Participation
TE Zach Sudfeld (hamstring)
Considering no one posting on this board has direct knowledge of his injury, the prescribed treatment, how he has responded to it over the last 10 days, and how severe the injury is, you might as well be asking what Microsoft stock will be trading at in January. Two weeks off, three weeks, 10 days off.....who cares??
Amendola initially hurt himself in the pre-season, took rest and treatment for that injury for many days AND COULD NOT MAKE IT THROUGH THE 1ST HALF OF THE 1ST GAME OF THE SEASON without re-injuring himself.
Given the very recent history with this player and that particular injury would someone like to explain the dog and pony show we saw on Monday with Limpy on the practice field??
people are writing him off because of his history. Look at how many games he misses every year. I won't write him off until next year. if he gets hurt for a while again next year...then I will write he is pure glass (even though he is now)
And there you have it.... Amednola DONE (for 3-4 weeks)!
We are cursed, FML
Patriots | More on Danny Amendola - NFL Hot off the Wire
See, I find that to be baloney.
Amendola got injured in the first week of a season, at a time when there was no return-IR designation. so he missed 15 games that year. Welker tore his ACL on the last game of the year - reverse the timetables there, which are just dumb luck - in both cases, because the Pats couldn't adjust and got eliminated the following week - and Welker's missed more games than Amendola over the last few years.
So you are saying the average poster sitting at their computer would do a better job on personnel than bill belichick?
That is your position?
Bill's drafts over the years are littered with guys whom he selected well above their status
and who never panned out; had he merely bet the chalk in those cases, many of them would
have performed well for us during the length of their rookie contracts, if not longer.
I don't know how many times this has to be explained to people. Welker has missed 4 games in 9+ years. Amendola has missed 21 games in the last 2+ seasons. In other words, even if you were to tack on a complete 16 game season to Welker's missed games totals, he'd STILL be below Amendola, despite playing more than twice as many seasons and going through 142 regular seasson games compared to Amendola's 43, and despite taking the far greater pounding because of the number of catches he's made over the years.
This nonsense about "Well, if..." is just a load of crap.
Looks new to me. That'd be really good news if he can play next week. Not sure if this has been discussed, but I found this article from yahoo sports which describes exactly "why" Amendola did not have surgery:
Y! SPORTS
It basically states that he totally tore his adductor longus muscle/tendon which is normally snipped from the pubic bone by doctors during the surgery process. Therefore he pretty much did the doctor's work for them which makes the need for surgery pointless.
It also describes that he benefits from a quicker recovery time (normally 3-4 wks) as opposed to if he had done the surgery.
Apologies if this is already known in the Boston/NE area, but I hadn't heard the specifics stated so I figured that I'd share.
