College Football Playoff National Championship 2024 - Wolverines / Huskies

Justin Fields minus 3 years of a rookie contract is not better than getting any of the guys you stated in the second round. BTW, I hope everyone is noticing the offensive lines here. Do you think they are making an impact?
If a rookie QB is really good, he redoes his deal after the 2nd year now. Burrow, Herbert, Josh Allen, even Kyler Murray. These people are making $40-50m in year 3. Current annual for a rookie QB selected at #3 is $10m a year. So, 6 years of a rookie if they pan out is $220m. If Fields gets $35m for the same length, it's $8m for next year, then $175m for the last 5.

The trend toward redoing rookie deals for QBs in the 3rd year has practically eliminated the perk of taking a rookie QB.

This just isn’t true.
This is Josh Allen’s 6th season and his total combined cap hits have been less than 60 mill with this year at 18.6 the highest.
This is Burrows 4th and his cap hits have totaled 44 mill. Even if they make no adjustments he isn’t anywhere near 220 mill in his first 6 years (barely more than half that).
This was Murray’s 5th and his cap hits have totalled less than 54 mill.
Next year will be Herbert’s 5th and his combined cap hits will be under 46 mill.

So many missed opportunities for Washington tonight

32 carries for 284 yards. That's just straight up boys versus men.

If TB is at this game, he could slip a note from RK to Harbaugh....jussayin.

I thought Penix was supposed to be good

Penix should've played himself out of the first round with this stinker tonight

Nice to see the Everett kid make that play. Did well all game.

He hasn’t been under a lot of pressure this year and it shows, hasn’t looked good when pressured, hasn’t looked that good when there hasn’t been pressure.

No thanks on Penix :headscratch:

Same goes for McCarthy actually. These guys don’t look NFL ready

The only 1st rd QBs are Williams, Maye, Daniels…that’s it.

Penix really couldn't have been much worse what a flop. They defense played pretty good all things considered.

No way he goes first rd now. GREAT receivers and played poorly in a big game.

Michigan National Champs…

Until it gets vacated in a few years.
