So ... if Brady were to go down next Sunday ... (knock on wood).

The unthinkable ... and yeah Maroney & Faulk
still win the game so relax and... :p chill out!:p

Who would make you less nervous?

I would rather see Gutierrez because at least he can run and is tough.

For a sub ... they are probably more preparred to play against
Cassel who seems to be a lesser talented clone of Brady ... hard to say ... OUCH!

Like many of us, i've already thought about such a scenario
more than is pleasant.

Start with trusting BB to be correct when he goes with Cassel as the backup
for three years.
I mean, if he were as dissatisfied with Matt C. as quite a few on this board are ...
he's had lot of time to shop elsewhere.

Then we proceed to a scenario we haven't seen yet ... ever.
Cassel at the helm of the A-team
... starters who then are playing in the full knowledge that THEY must get the job done.

I think the Pats have enough excess talent
to at least hold a lead in that game ...
probably to come from behind ... and to win.
They could accomplish this for some finite number of games
until the league's DCs caught up.

There is probably a "dumbed-down" subset of the playbook
that doesn't require Cassel to make Brady-like reads and line calls, checkoffs and hot reads.
He's technician enough to succeed at that.

Funny, I seem to remember Cassel running it in from the 15 for a touchdown. . . .

Based on what we saw during the preseason I'd say Guitterez without a doubt.

Cassell wins the big one, and the NYJ give us their #1 for him.

Then we sign Noodlington for cheap as #2/3.

Sweet.
