Do you know for a fact that taking a member of the league office out to dinner when he is in town is completely unheard of? If you're so much more informed than the rest of us, please feel free to present some facts supporting your argument.

Like I said, if they take a limousine instead of a party bus, not a single person would be talking about this or would care.
We're talking about football, not starving children in Ethiopia. Stop taking it so seriously that you think the above comment is even remotely relevant.
Like I said, fans of every single team whine about the favoritism everybody else is receiving and how unfairly the league office treats them. I refuse to look at these incidents wearing the lenses of my favorite team. What exactly is it that you're so upset about? A team taking a guy from the NFL office out for a night while he was in town?

The Cowboys may do it up a bit louder and brasher than anyone else, but if you think this is the first time Blandino has been taken out for an evening by some team he was visiting, then you're the one with the uninformed post.

Look, you may be right about a lot of this stuff, but I would like you to describe to me in the same type of detail you've illustrated here what you think the reaction would have been if that event had taken place on Bob Kraft's team bus. Thanks, in advance.

There is a lot of this that goes on in the NFL and it is part of the favoritism problem.

Just because a lot of people bitch, doesn't mean there isn't favoritism. Look at what happened at the end of the year with no cap... If you don't perceive that as favoritism, you're beyond my help.

The stuff people fret over is remarkable. The NFL is an entertainment business disguised as a sport with a mission statement created solely to elevate Peyton Manning to the peak of Mount Olympus. Everybody knows this.

In this forum, the people being most criticial would be saying it was no big deal.

What in the world are you talking about? Youre going to have to be a bit more specific than "the end of the year with no cap."

I wasn't referring to the reaction here and you know that. I was referring to the media reaction. I'll ask again, what do you think it would have been if it had been on a Bob Kraft party bus?

This isn't about partying. It is about conflict of interest.

What I want to know is why Bob Kraft didn't think of this first. The Patriots probably would have gotten the holding call on Gronk at the end of the Carolina game if he'd taken Dean Blandino for a spin around Charlotte in a bus full of strippers. C'mon, Bob. Lighten up!

Yep, and the Jets and Broncos did the same thing by weaseling in a loophole in the CBA. The only real difference is that the two teams that didn't get punished were guilty of collusion too.

Considering Jerry Jones is probably the loudest, most brash and most recognized of all NFL owners, the national media coverage probably would have been more subdued if it was Bob Kraft.

I think you're biased by the concentration you have on Boston based media (including this forum). Obviously the Boston based media would have been discussing it more, but I don't think it would have been more prominent nationally.

Hint: Before you can rest your case, it helps to actually make one.

I thought that was what he may have been talking about, but I was wondering how that incident showed any sort of league sponsored favoritism toward the Cowboys. If you want to jump in and explain how punishing the Cowboys unfairly demonstrates favoritism towards them I would be interested in hearing.

Sorry if I, you know, actually have a life and can't monitor the goings-on in this forum 24/7.

I'm going to be kind and instead of saying you're being disingenuous, I'll suggest you're kidding yourself. Either way, you're dead wrong.

And you're just being a paranoid "the world hates the Patriots" fan.

Fact is there are certain marquee teams that attract more national attention than others for every little thing they do. There are also certain marquee owners that attract more national attention for every little thing they do. The Patriots are one of those teams. But so are the Cowboys. The only one kidding themselves is the one who thinks the Patriots would have made more national news for the same thing than Jerry Jones.
