I don't think it's because he lacks the talent.
BJGE does not lack the talent to be a 200 carry 1000 yd 10 TD guy. He just lacks the talent to be another Corey Dillon.
I just think the 250+ carry back is now extinct in the NFL. You just wear them down too fast when you give them heavy loads.
I agree with the philosophy in having a RB carry the ball 300 times a year. With that said, there are 13 RBs who have or will go over 250 carries this year. If you do the math, thats only 15.6 carries a game. That is reasonable.
In 2000 there were 19 runners over 250 carries. In 1995 there were 15. In 1990 there were 6. My point is that it goes in cycles.
BJGE will be on a timeshare but he will get the majority of carries for the forseeable future unless we draft a monster who will take over for him.
I doubt the team will proactively draft a monster RB. Trade maybe.
He is a very servicable back and we have Woodhead for 3rd downs.
Yep and the running game is very productive because of their skill.
