If he turns out like this guys says we may see him pushing Sanders for
the start sooner than we might expect.

PATs have a shot of having one of the most improved secondaries in the
league this year with exceptional depth.

The only real POTENTIAL weakness in this years Defense is at OLB.
But if Woods or Crable rise to the occasion this could be the best defense
BB has fielded since he has been here. A real nice mixture of speed,
    versatility and experience.

It's sort of scary to think that Woods and Crable could be the difference in winning a title or not. I have high hopes for Crable, my buddys dad who is a big Michigan fan is extremely high on him (as he was with Brady when we drafted him) so hopefully he's right (again.)

I don't think they alone will be the difference. If everyone else is solid and we have a weakness at one position, it will not cost us the title.

If one weak position is a fatal flaw, somehow no team would ever win a game.

I'm excited about Chung. A tough SS who runs a 4.5, works extremely hard, is bright, hits hard, tackles well, and loves football? Yes, please.

Nice to see about Chung. Wish I didn't have to see Everette Brown at the top, though.

I am a Duck fan, so I am very familiar with him. I really wanted this kid to be drafted. Really the only knock on him is that he's a little younger than most seniors as he started college at 16. He can cover, hit, play in the kicking game. He's not a speedster, but he's fast enough. He's a great all-around football player and a great kid.

Word of warning: the last player I wanted us the draft that we actually drafted was Cobbs who turned out to be a nothing.

I went on record weeks ago saying that I thought Chung would make the biggest impact among the rookies and would be a starter by mid-season. Apparently, the writer feels the same.

There is very little I have read about this kid that I don't like so far. I've gone from being very disappointed about the secondary to very excited. It's funny what an offseason does.

As a Michigan fan myself, I'm also high on Crable. The kid can play and succeeded in college despite his coaching. I can only imagine what he'll do with good coaching.

:yeahthat: There was a active "gametime" discussion on the draft board during the combine DB drills. The consensus was that one player rose clearly above the pack at each of the DB positions:

    CB: Darius Butler
    FS: Louis Delmas
    SS: Patrick Chung

Nabbing two of the three without spending a first-round pick is pretty darned nice. Chung wasn't nearly the "ooohh, smoooooth!" performer that Butler and Delmas were, but he stood out dramatically as a barrel-chested mini-linebacker among the whippets. (Little WRs, you do NOT want this man charging into you.) Then when the drills started, Chung schooled most of the whippets with surprising speed and moves. With Meriweather as a natural FS type, he looks like the perfect complement.

    Disable Jersey

Well, it gives every team's fans an opportunity to overrate their players and their team, and it turns every 7th round pick and undrafted player into a future Pro Bowl player, so it's got that going for it.

I wonder what somebody who is not a football fan would think if they were to walk by and look over one of our shoulders and see us reading a column titled "Analyst high on Chung". Would they think it's a hot stock market tip, or a story about some new illicit drug usage?
