It has to have occurred to the club to follow the money aspect only and what pick #7 means to the chemistry of the club.
Will the pick at # 7 hurt more than it can possibly help by destroying the sanity and structure of what we pay our OL & DL groups?
The players will all say good luck to the rookie for getting what he can - but, inside, how in the world can we possibly hope to sign Wilfork when shelling out barrels of cash for a Dorsey. Or how could you possibly pay Brandon Albert the going rate at #7 when the rest of the OL is so far below?
For those reasons alone, it would not surprise me to see the trade down or a LB or even Mcfadden taken. AT least with a LB, there aren't as many players that are coming up for new deals anytime soon.
