    #17 Jersey

It has to have occurred to the club to follow the money aspect only and what pick #7 means to the chemistry of the club.

Will the pick at # 7 hurt more than it can possibly help by destroying the sanity and structure of what we pay our OL & DL groups?

The players will all say good luck to the rookie for getting what he can - but, inside, how in the world can we possibly hope to sign Wilfork when shelling out barrels of cash for a Dorsey. Or how could you possibly pay Brandon Albert the going rate at #7 when the rest of the OL is so far below?

For those reasons alone, it would not surprise me to see the trade down or a LB or even Mcfadden taken. AT least with a LB, there aren't as many players that are coming up for new deals anytime soon.

If the Pats draft d-line at #7, they are basically saying to Wilfork, "Thanks for playing, Vince and now here are some lovely parting gifts..."

    #17 Jersey

That was along time ago...and who were the probowl caliber players on the dline then that would have been mad seeing huge money going to a rookie.

i think its a serious consideration....

how can we have a rookie getting the 3rd most money in the team, with the likes of randy moss, tom brady, vince, AD, mankins, light, seymour on that same team?

Have basically said this all along, a 7th will upset the chemistry of this club.. that is why I think they will trade down.

    #75 Jersey

Paying number 7 like money makes alot of sense for alot of other teams. It would upset our salary structure a tad. I smell a trade. Either way it's not my money. I'm fine either way.

As a draft fan, I always like to acquire more picks in order to upgrade the roster from the bottom up. And in this particular draft, the talent level seems to be very deep through at least round 3. So my hope and want for months now has been to trade down from #7.

The #1 player on my Pats board is Chris Long, followed by Antoine Cason. Obviously there's a huge difference in their rankings -- and that's my point. There's a handful of prospects I like in between those two, but I'm not drawn to any specific player.

The only time I'd prefer to remain at a high position like #7, is when there's a chance to select an impact player...someone who's a difference maker. Solid starters are nice...but if that's all the Pats are getting -- I'd rather trade down.

If our players are stupid enough to blame the Patriots organization for a f*cked up rookie salary system then our problems are far more serious than "chemistry".
