Alot of people didn't like what they saw from #33. If Maualuga declares he may be considered the #1 MLB prospect in the draft. He has already stated adamantly that he would return for his senior year, but we've heard that many times from many players. I have to think that a drop in #33's stock may prompt Rey to leave school after the Rose Bowl dust settles.

That may not be the only reason.

Pete Carroll is said to be interested in the Atlanta job, if reports are true that he's willing to give Carroll full control of football ops.

Rey might not want to stick around, not knowing who the new coach will be, or not wanting to adjust to a new system, if in fact it's different.

I hope Pete makes up his mind before the deadline to declare.

I would definitely pick Maualuga over Laurinaitis. I think that Laurinaitis and Connor are both over rated. Wouldn't mind picking up Bell, Leman, Crable or some of the other LBs or DE/LBs in the later rounds either.
