2015 NFL Mock Drafts

Tevin Coleman at 64 should appease Manx.

"Appease."

Appease is such an awesome word. I'm visualizing Brother Manx as a 600 Pound Troll, squatting imperiously on'is Throne of Bones, guzzling Blood from the skulls of vanquished Foes!! :D

We should all put our pics in our a I. I took a selfie of me in my Hannah jersey. I'll put mine up. Challenging the rest of you to do the same.

In the words of the immortal Bear Bryant; "That boy's a stud."

ps I will remove if I scared any of the younger posters or females.

I have a feeling the pats aren't gonna sign many FA's, other than our own. BB has to look to next year cause jones, Hightower, and Collins(idk if he's a FA in 2016 or 2017) deals are up.

I doubt that Wilfork and Browner will be willing to bend as far as you suggest. Mayo is a wildcard where everything from restructure (more likely) to a trade (less likely) is possible.

I understand why you would cut Amendola instead of restructuring but giving away Arrington makes no sense. He is our best slot corner and played a pretty good season when used correctly.

Finally, I would vomit if we give Fitzgerald 9 millions per year. There is no way I would be willing to pay more than 5-6 millions for a luxury piece like him. If he doesn't take that money to play for a real contender then he should go to the Colts or wherever and count his money while sitting on the couch during crunchtime next January. You don't pay a player for their name or career stats but for what their projected role is. We would benefit considerably more from a great flexback (equal rush + receiving threat) than from any deep threat WR.

We can't push too many restructures back. Because, Hightower and Chandler Jones have to be extended after 2015 season. Then, Jamie Collins the following year. For example, do we do anything with Amendola? Can we just keep him at current number for another year, and draft his replacement this year. A kid like Lockett. Less dead money on the books when we eventually cut him. Same with guys like Arrington and Browner. That's why BB makes the big bucks$$

I actually have dulled my view on Amendola over the last few months; I like him as a scrappy player who can make some plays for us when needed. I just could not say to sign Fitzgerald and keep Amendola, the $4.5M cap savings would go toward Fitzgerald it did not make sense, if you take Fitzgerald out of the equation I would attempt to restructure Amendola and keep him. As far as Arrington goes, I am not giving him away, I am clearing $3M off the cap with the 6/1 designation, which allows us to resign Revis and McCourty. In both of these situations I am looking at the spend for the unit as a whole, how much we have invested in the WR’s and how much we have invested in the DB’s. Unfortunately something has to give in order for the numbers to work out, I do not want to part with Amendola or Arrington, I am just being realistic.

I would only guarantee the first year of Fitzgerald’s deal and it would not be for $9M it would be a back loaded contract with a team option for year 2 and 3 similar to the Revis deal. Just an FYI.

Amendola has a cap hit of $5.7M in 2015, which is the 25th highest cap hit of any WR in the NFL. That is a big # to carry for are #3 WR and #5-6 option. Arrington has a $4.6M cap hit, once again a big hit for a #3-4 CB. Right now Browner and Arrington have a combined cap hit of $11.2M, add whatever Revis comes in at and we have $20M+ tied up in are top 3 CBs. It is not feasible in my opinion.

That's fair. I've said in the past that I'd let Amendola go if you're sure you have a vet wr n the house. Ready to sign on the dotted line. Fitzy is a pipe dream IMO.

If Dennard looks health, we can prob save some money and let Arrington go. I'd use that money on Ayers And Casillas. I think both could be valuable pieces. Just draft another cb in the 3rd or 4th. BB used to always go get veteran LB's. He might like what he sees in them. Especially, with a full off-season on how to use them.

I like Ayers to be a long term replacement for Ninkovich so I am very hopeful that he resigns. I think Casillas is a no brainer he isn't going to cost a lot and he can be the #4 LB and a core ST player.

Fitzgerald is likely a pipe dream but if he is cut by AZ and he wants to have a chance to win I think he would be interested. Andre Johnson is another veteran WR who could be considered.

Here is one i did using http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/ :

32: Jordan Phillips DT: Gurley was there at RB… but I just don’t value the position enough when we have Blount, Gray, White and possibly Vereen.

64: Maxx Williams TE: AJ Cann was there as the Top G prospect

96: Mike Davis RB: Got my RB in the 3rd

97: Nelson Agholor WR: Value here and a good young WR if Amendola goes or Dobson is a Bust.

98: Donovan Smith OT: A bit of OT cover if Fleming beats out Wendel in camp for RG

130: John Miller OG: Double Dipping on the OL

Might be light on the OL help early... all depends on what happens to Connolly in FA i guess.

Just did a quick fanspeak draft:

32: R1P32 - WR KEVIN WHITE, WEST VIRGINIA. Yeah..yeah..yeah...Pats and WR's... Dude was available so I took him. Way too much talent to pass on at 32.

64: R2P32 - DT CARL DAVIS, IOWA - Throw him in there as part of the rotation. Will be interesting to see how he handles double teams at the NFL level.

96: R3P32 - G TRE' JACKSON, FLORIDA STATE - Very solid guard. Plug and play.

98: R4P2 - OT DARYL WILLIAMS, OKLAHOMA - No clue why he's available this late. Dude could make a good guard.

128: R4P32 - TE JESSE JAMES, PENN STATE - Great size and runs well. Not too sure on his blocking. Seems like a steal at bottom of 4th round.

162: R6P2 - CB LADARIUS GUNTER, MIAMI (FLA.) - I'm still way behind in evaluations, so my draft knowledge this year doesn't run deep enough to project anything past the 4th round. This is a big kid who impressed at the senior bowl and BB loves his db's.

194: R7P2 - RB TERRENCE MAGEE, LSU - I kind of lost track of him this year, but he had some great runs in 2013.

Did he really have that great a year?

I thought he had a good year. Played too many snaps though. He should never, ever rush a QB whom isn't a statue. But, Silega got hurt, Easley was never 100 pct and Branch was signed too late. I think he's valuable as a run-stuffer and team leader. I'm worried our run D would be too soft without him. If he doesn't want to bring his number down, I'd have to let him go.

Seems to me that if you have a veteran with a huge cap number and you are looking to decrease his snap count, then you have a problem that needs addressing.

I do value his leadership. We're an awfully young team. Not so bad to have some vets around. Would love to get that number down to 5m

By all accounts wilfork is a very prideful player, not sure he would be receptive to a renegotiation.

But if he would and he got to your number, then that would be a huge compromise.
