Go on record with your sleeper picks here.

Here's an interesting prospect. How about Jairus Byrd from Oregon? His teammate Patrick Chung is getting more pub because of the senior bowl, but Byrd might make for an interesting second day pick and offers a lot of versatility. "Quarterback was his primary spot, but this amazing athlete also played Running Back, Wide Receiver, Defensive Back, Punter, and Kicker.

Couple of things. First, that article was posted last August.

Second, How can someone who is rated as a 2nd round pick by NFLDraftscout.com be considered a sleeper?

In other words, people noticed him this year and his stock has risen accordingly.

I disagree with the definition that the player needs to turn into a franchise player to be a sleeper. In that case only the Tom Bradys of the world would be considered sleepers. I think anyone that outperforms expectations for where they were picked and turns into a good player can be considered a sleeper.

Glad you mentioned him since he had fallen off my radar. Looked like he was really ready to break out but the Cavs sucked this past year...particulary on offense. He is quick to the hole and seemed to have solid hands. I was zeroing in on Ian Johnson as a late round RB, but I'll be interested to see how Peerman shows at the combine.

Nice call. Of course, I'd rather take him in the third.

Mostly, I'm just completely confused why they don't take someone else when they had Gilbert, Johnson, Smith, and Meredith on the board. Huh.

I agree..it was a great call...a surprise at 2...but they onviously didn't want another team to draft him..even later..
