Peter King mentioned on Inside the NFL tonight that Romeo could be out in Cleveland. Anyone think he could jump back on the coaching staff next year?

Would love to have him back, but NO.
Unless BB tells him he plans to step down in a couple of years, don't see it happing.
I do think crennel will be a better pro coach than weis-MY OPINION.

because our playcalling is questionable. 2 good games doesnt make McDaniels a good OC. Weis is a great offensive mind and he was a huge part of our success.

    Weis > Captain McDaniels

im wondering why your asking..you know Weis would make this offense a lot better

My response was more on availibility,
Romeo probably not,but weiss would never come back unless it was for the head job.

I'm sure Belichick would hire Romeo back but the defense has done too well to poop on Pees. Just like Parcells found a role for Belichick in '96 despite keeping Groh as DC, I imagine Belichick would find a role for Romeo - if Romeo wanted to return.

Romeo should have been hired by BC!

what he said!!!! It seems that after two years, we still have problems with in-game offensive adjustments. I first noticed it last year when we played Carolina and was really evident when we played the Colts this year.

NEMs right...our defense has keep us in games this year.

NEM is an idiot and proud of it, but since you agree with his point, perhaps you can explain to me how in-game adjustments are made and who might be involved in them?

Romeo is a great coach and its a shame they wont give him more time in Cleveland (if the reports are true). I'm sure there will ALWAYS be a place for Romeo here in NE, but it wouldn't be as DC. It would be flat WRONG to demote Dean Pees after the job he's done this season, especially with all the injuries. BOTTOM LINE - if Romeo came back it would be as a position coach, and I think he could do better with another 3-4 team. It wouldn't shock me if Mangini made a run at him.

There will be a lot of HCs making a run at him for DC or Asst. HC Cleveburgh's management/ownership nightmare is probably stupid enough to can him, but he certainly doesn't deserve to be fired at this point.

I can see Romeo being the token "Black-Coach-that-everyone-has-to-take-a-look-at-before-hiring-the-guy-they-really-want" guy.

After that is done I predict he will be the Assistant Head Coach of the Patriots in 2007.

You don't skip a beat or miss an opportunity to bash McDaniels do you?? I never understand why you don't criticize his boss and the architect of all things Patriots?? Makes little sense to this fan that you never have looked at the big picture that is this team, to say the D carries the O is a mistatement and vice versa, all compliment each other that is what makes this team great.

Wow I had no idea that we had a OC last year. McD gets blamed for not adjusting when he technically wasn't even the OC. This is just great. Thank for the input.

Let's see... there are rumors of RAC being canned, rumors of Coughlin being fired, rumors of the Giants wanting Weis or (laughably) bringing Belichick and Pioli to NY.

Weis isn't leaving ND yet. BB and SP aren't going anywhere next year. Coughlin is as good as gone.

If the Giants really want someone from the Belichick branch of the Parcells tree, why not go with Romeo?

The only drawback I see to this would be Romeo wanting to implement the 3-4 in New York, which would cause some personnel issues. They have two smallish DTs who could probably play 3-4 DE, but nobody who could start at NT. Meanwhile, Pierce, their best LB, is a bit small for 3-4 ILB. Finally, both Kiwanuka and Umenyiora would have to move to OLB, which seems a shame to do w/ two young guys who've shown such potential as 4-3 DEs... and even if you did, you'de have a logjam at the position w/ Lavar Arrington.

Ultimately, they'd have to sell off some parts and rebuild in RAC's image, which wouldn't play well in a market that thinks -- and possibly correctly -- that the team is talented enough to win sooner rather than later.
