Guys, I think we should be realistic. I hate to say this, but getting beat on Saturday is a distinct possibility. And no, I'm not a Jags fan. I'm just trying t be realistic

Absolutely. It's a possibility EVERY week. I was doing a little math, and i think it's VERY telling. If you have an amazing team, and every week, no matter how good the opponent, you have a .70% chance of winning. That would still mean that your chances of winning 19 in a row are 1 in a 1000.

My point is this, I don't think even the best teams in the history of the NFL, and I'm not ready to annoint this pats team as the best ever yet, shouldn't get significantly more than 70% chance on any given week. In my opinion, 70% is a VERY big favorite to win. Let's suppose that we say the pats have an 80% chance of winning this week..or even 85%... 15% is STILL a serious prospect of a loss.

With the schedule the pats had this year, I can't believe they had more than a 70% chance on average, which to my mind makes this even more amazing.

All that said..

Go Patriots!

It didn't get boring to sports shows. It didn't get boring to television audiences.

Oddly enough, it mostly got boring to the trolls from opposing teams. Hmmm....

Your panic button is either really big or your fingers are really twitchy.

Don't you mean "distant", not distinct? Anything is possible.. but whether it is probable or not is the question...

On paper and given the history of the game, sure, it's possible that the Jaguars could beat the Pats.

However, the probability of this is quite bleak... Maybe the Jags should start the first quarter with a return kick for TD... this could give them a very slight edge towards winning (assuming they ever pull it off with Jones-Drew)... But this possibility will quickly be erased when TB scores repeatedly on each possession... By the half, the possibilty will still exist but the probability would be zero....

Here are facts:

1- Pats faced Jag 2 times in the last 2 or 3 years.
3- Pats has been in play off games and won 3 SBs.
4-BB is the best NFL coach.
5-Pats has the best QB and receivers and experienced D and O line.

Pats will win because of our experiences.

This is one of the best observations Ive heard on this. If you look at it this way, it does make the Pats run even more impressive. Having said that, the jags are no push over. I dont think they will win but I do think they'll give you a run for your money. Here's to a great game. Good Luck

If you flip a coin 100 times and you get 90 heads, 10 tails, what do you conclude?
a- An amazing streak (miraculous)
b- The coin is a trick coin (head bias)

Without knowing anything about the coin, the correct answer is b.

Likewise, you can turn your argument around to say that given the Pats got 16-0 (evidence) what would have been their most likely real chance of winning. Now you can be really amazed. It means the Pats are incredibly capable of winning in 90+%

However, the chance varies each game, it's higher against Miami and lower against Colts. My estimate against the Jaguars is around 79%, of course they can lose.

In the end of the game between Jag vs Steelers, sport showhosts let Jag coach know what they need to do to defeat Pats.

This is not something new. We are taking risk every day and our football game is going to be like that.

I have the confident in BB and Brady to carry our team to the end. I'm not scared about it.

Giants is leading NFL in the number of 'sacked' but Brady was not sacked as much as they expected. Giants and Steelers are physical teams too and we WON.

why are you worried something that doesn't exist.?
