Did the team release any info about Danny Amendola's surgeries?

Hopefully Edelman and Lewis aren't on there too long. Amendola either. Garoppolo is going to need all the quick reads he can get with the amount of blitzing he's going to see in the first four weeks.

Blount has said he'll fill that quick receiver role on a temporary basis

I don't mind this PUP list much.

Edelman/Amendola/Vollmer/Lewis/Mason to me are are locks so no need to push anyone. I am kind of sad to see Mason missing time though. The other 4 on this list don't need much if any preseason snaps to be ready week 1. Mason is still learning somewhat so i hope he gets out there soon.

Harbor is the guy who will be effected by this the most as he is maybe 50/50 to make the roster and needs to prove it.

Jackson is on the outside looking in.

Lewis was doing drills at OTA so I think he will be one of the first one's off the PUP and Jeff Howe is saying that Edelman will be ready very soon and may even be off the PUP as early as next week

In fact I would expect most of them to be off by the 2nd week of camp. Pats are usually conservative with players that had injuries or surgeries coming into camp.

I'm really looking forward to seeing D Roberts in camp. He looked like a natural last TC until he hurt his wrist. The secondary has a lot of potential.

I'm totally drinking the Roberts kool-aide. He was a menace in camp and he was holding his own vs Jordy Nelson until his hurt the hand.

The dude is sticky.

Until is start seeing sucky coverage and bad performances he will be in the DB rotation.

I always have hope for injured rookies making a splash in subsequent years. I just can't think of any that have though. That never stops me from having high hopes.

That was one of my bigger disappointments last TC.

One less player on PUP as Shaq Mason practiced today.

I saw earlier in this thread that the presumptive starting guards were Thuney and Cooper. I wonder if Mason participated in the scrimmage drills, and if he'll replace one of those 2.

Can they do this while on PUP?

Can they do this while on PUP?

Yes.. As long as it is a staffer, then it's part of their rehab.. If it was one of the QBs, then they'd get in trouble..

Correction - Tre' Jackson also remains on PUP

At this point, being on PUP is the best opportunity for Jackson to earn a salary. He seems very unlikely to make the 53, but could make it later in the season if there are injuries.

Danny Amendola, Sebastian Vollmer, Dion Lewis, and Tre Jackson can remain on Active PUP until they practice or at the latest 4PM September 3rd.
