Good for him. Narratives like riding off into the sunset are stupid. He has nothing to lose, if the desire is there and a team believes in him, why not?

I am curious to see if he would be better next year or if his body is just finished.

Manning's best options:

1. Jets

2. LA Rams

3. Retire

If he does not keep on playing #12 will pass him in just about every major category, remember when there was a lot of brouhaha when he won his 200th game.. #12 is at win 196 I believe..

Very interesting development if true.

I also think that the Donkos have already told him sayonara OR lowballed him on a new contract and being of the prideful, ego-maniac variety, refuses to go out on Elway's terms or let this off the field stuff chase him out of the spotlight he craves so much.

He was embarrassing himself last year. Long past time to hang it up.

So what are the Donkeys cap ramifications if he retires versus if he is released or traded?

This is the other awesome part, I'm hoping. That he ****s up the Broncos if they release him.

He won't go to the Jets he'd have to compete against the Pats and a tough Bills squad. He won't go to the Rams because he would get destroyed by AZ and Seattle while SF has a decent defense as well. I see him going to the Texans or a team in a weak division he always picks the easiest path. That being said hope he retires sick of him

Peyton's 2016 salary is guaranteed in he is on the roster at the end of this season. He will not be on the roster. The only cap obligation of Denver is $2.5M of dead money.

Peyton's contract calls for a $19M salary for 2016.
