NFL might be planning to release "a summary" of PSI findings

What a joke. How convenient to "release" the findings as the Pats approach a possible SB run. Even the average non Pats fan can see thru this BS. This will blow up in their face. And No, they won't release any info to exonerate the Pats. And let me guess, it was an "independent" team that did the testing. F' them

I'm so cynical. This is all just BS.

Seriously...they have invested 8 figures into this.

They will be releasing nothing that helps Brady's case or changes the BS narrative that they are spewing.

Folks, anyone and I mean ANYONE who is waiting for the results of the NFL's release of data please read RW's post so you can end your suspense.
The NFL canNOT afford, from a politics standpoint, for data to be counter to their heavily entrenched and fortified position as Brady the cheater. Unlike the pie in the sky claims of 'this will get Goodell fired' for all the things that have occurred, if he does a turnabout on deflategate this time he will actually be fired (he'll retire several months down the line so he can spend more time to spend with his family and to give them each a banana and a brand new samsonite suitcase to smash around]).

No way, no how, not happening, nada, zilch, forgetaboutit. Sharks don't commit suicide, they make others commit suicide then shift the blame on them. But at this point even if Goodell and his henchmen fattened up a patsy to take the fall it still would not save Goodell. He is 100% ALL in on deflategate.

That they leaked this story, that they "might" release this information, is itself bullcrap. More of the same from the NYFL. Freaking joke. As one commenter at the story noted, the NFL will only release the results if they are bad for the Patriots. You think they will release any information, voluntarily, if it makes them look bad?

Excellent point and a great reminder that every iota of information coming from these creeps should be seen with a moist skeptical eye.

Either they cooked the numbers or they are about to drop the lawsuit, give us our draft pick back and give Brady an apology.

Hmmmm, which is it...
I think we know what it is.

A year later and we're still taking about air pressure in footballs that equates to about the weight of a dollar.....amazing.

Well to be fair a year later we are also still talking about pink coaching headsets that don't work right....:)

Here is what they will say...

"Although there were some anomalies in a few games, all in all there were no effects on the PSI due to weather or temperature.."

I saw this last week and forgot to post it. Nick Kistner did a study that shows that Exponent's errors in the Wells Report. The short version is that, without those errors, the Patriots footballs were where they should be PSI-wise, with either gauge.

Do they intend to change the laws of physics?

Actually, i think it's great that they are doing this during the break between games. It's hard to keep an emotional edge like Brady had at the start of the season and Saturday.

This new insult to his integrity should be enough hate and resentment fuel to take us over the top.

Goodell is trying to disprove Ideal Gas Law. I'm sure he'll be sending this research to The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences with the request that it be considered for the Nobel Prize awards in the fields of Physics and Chemistry.:D

If he doesn't get the Noble prize, maybe he'll get an "ESPY" for the categories of physics and chemistry.

If anything is released it will support the cheating accusation but also be vague enough that it cannot be disproven.

I think the NFL will announce:

" After a season of tracking PSI the league has determined the Patriots did not intentionally tamper with the footballs for the Colts game". The NFL will return the fine to the Patriots, drop all legal procedures against Mr Brady. And lastly return all draft picks to the Patriots"!

And then Hell will freeze over and the world will end!

Whatever happened to Well's? No more investigations for him? Haven't heard anything about him in awhile. Lol

Amazing they can get this much traction from a fake story. It's been a year and potentially 2 Super Bowls.

This isn't a science question, it's a psychology question.

Goodell is a narcissist with a damaged ego whose entire sense of self worth is based on a framework of lies. He becomes threatened and enraged by anything that might expose those lies. Being essentially an overgrown spoiled brat from a rich family, he has an enormous sense of entitlement and believes he will always get his way as long as he has the right contacts and spends enough money.

He was retained by Exxon last month "to defend the company during a probe into whether it mislead the public about its climate change research."

I'm not even joking. You know what, though? Wells will find that Exxon didn't mislead anyone. Or if they did, it was one person, acting on their own, who was at fault, not an organized effort direct by the company. That's what he's being paid to do.

My guess is that the NFL had the balls pumped up to 13 inside at room temperature, pregame.

Teams then played with the footballs outside in the cold for a half.

Then they took them back inside. But not for immediate pressure measurement, rather to let them sit inside for hours while they warm all the way back up to room temperature, while the 2nd half was played with the backup footballs.

Thus… voila! No loss of psi!

Then they will say with a straight face “playing with footballs outside in the cold has no effect on PSI”.

The haters will eat it up.

Those with a brain will say “but wait… PSI goes down with temperature, so they should have measured PSI while the footballs were still cold, as they did in the Jan 2015 AFCCG.

Then those with a brain will be completely ignored.

I completely agree with your assessment of what they've done which is why some media outlet should have conducted a test on their own at the Vikings/ Packers game. In addition, they've already admitted temp affects psi because they decided to switch out balls during that game.

I am clearly in the minority here, but I cant believe the NFL at this point would release anything about PSI that would make it another story. Goodell has been in hiding all season on every front trying to regain some level of composure, and then in the biggest week of the year hes going to double down against a team possibly going for back to back championships?

If that is the direction this goes, I am literally without words. That would be without a doubt, the dumbest decision his office has made, and that is saying something. Last year was a total cluster and almost cost the man his job. Roger dodger is all about self preservation, no way he risks putting himself in dangers way again, or do anything that could effect the focus of the game.

Many will disagree and given the history, with good reason. I just cant think of a PR company in the world that would recommend this as a strategy. It isnt like last year where they had no idea how to respond, and totally muddled it from the beginning. They have had 12 months to come up with a plan of attack to put an end to this. The league cant allow back to back superbowls to be about a ludicrous side stories. No company, not even one run by Roger Dodger is that dumb.

I hope.
