NFL worried about PSI in Vikings-Seahawks game

I notice that the report at the top of this page talks about the NFL being worried about the balls "deflating in chilly Minnesota".

Can any journalist ever get it right? The balls don't deflate - they lose pressure. There's a significant difference, not least as the former requires human intervention and the latter is an act of nature.

Fantastic. This is going to be great evidence during the appeal in February. Kessler is popping champagne right now I bet.

This won't come up in the appeal at all. The only things that will be considered in the appeal will be Berman's decision itself, in the context of the record before him at the time and in the context of relevant law. Nothing else. No new evidence of any sort.

Another typical NFL smoke screen. They would rather have fans focus on PSI than last nights embarrassing attempt at a football game between the Steelers & Bengals.

i still can't believe kraft gave up the first pick. that is a tackle that is probably 2x better than cannon, fleming and waddle combined.

Nothing stops them from falsifying the results anyways. Not sure why they didn't to begin with. May as well BS the whole thing.

"According to Paolantonio, the footballs will be brought to the field 20 minutes before kickoff, to give them enough time to adjust to the frigid air. More importantly, at halftime, the officials will switch to the backup footballs. Both sets of footballs will be tested after the game."

So they are going to pump them up in the cold then when they don't decline they will use that to say see the Patriots cheated

more proof that goodell is a moron.

still waiting for the apology/the return of our 1st round pick!
This just enrages me further about losing that first-round pick for NOTHING!!!:mad::mad: Where the hell is that slimeball Goodell anyway? I hope he's hard at work on "integrity of the game" via that thug rumble last night in Cincinnati.

Next Mondays Headline:
"Patriots continue to deflate balls by altering regional temperatures"

NFL leaks evidence that 9 out of 10 playoff games the Patriots have played, have had below averaged temperatures. After an exhaustive investigation Davis Wells has determined that it is more probable than not that the Patriots organization have been aware of this weather tampering scheme and have used this scheme to win. The investigation has asked for phones from 2007-2014 but hve been informed that these phones are not available and have been destroyed years ago. The NFL cannot allow such a challenge to its integrity and will shortly determine a punishment suitable for the crime.

On a side note, the NFL has determined there was no wrong doing by the Vikings as the balls they used dropped to 9 PSI during the game. When asked about the variance, the NFL smiled and said the Viking are playing football games, and are more concerned about the game than silly things like PSI!

I think we all know the Krafts like nothing more than the love of the "Other 31".

All the cheers Bob gets at Gillette show how successfully he's played the fans as suckers.

Can someone explain to me why they don't just inflate the balls outside in the cold air?

Logic is not a strength of the failed Jest executives currently running the NFL show. Consider their extreme desire to displace and insert TWO existing NFL teams into a market that has rejected its past two NFL teams.

Maybe I'm incorrectly stereotyping the predominant ethnicity in LA (LA County has the largest Hispanic population of any county in the USA) ...but look at what's going on in Miami....a population shift so dramatic that a once large and loyal fan base is slowly disappearing and the majority Latino population has little interest in pro football. They have no interest in pro baseball as well, a sport that is a part of their culture. Why the powers that be believe LA is now ready.......you got me.

I know. It is just so dumb. The whole thing. Including their pseudo concern about the pressure to begin with.

The Back footballs will be under 12.5 before the first snap of the second half and will be in the 8-9 psi range by the middle of the 3rd qtr.

Utterly ridiculous. The balls will be at 13PSI or whatever they set it to. Tomorrow we are going to hear renewed "Cheaters!" crap for the whole week. They are doing this to take focus off of last night.

How long does it take the balls to return to original pressure once they are inside? I was thinking the measurement won't mean much if they don't measure until after the game.

Exactly. They'll measure them a hour after, everything will be hunky dory in NFL land, and the Patriots will retake their place as the biggest cheaters in the history of sports.

Uh oh, Goodell at the stadium.
