Regret
Losing to a playoff contender and subsequently losing the home field tie breaker advantage with this team offers me no relief

I am relieved that Gronk and High are ok.

I am relieved that we don't have to listen to the perfect season talk by out of touch fans who fail to realize that this team is just trying to win a game while trying to get healthy.

I am regretful that they didn't win because as you say, it's makes achieving HFA a little tighter and you NEVER want your opponent to know that they can beat you.

Nah, of course there's regret--feeling "relief" as a fan after a loss is loser talk.

But the Super Bowl is paramount, of course, so full speed ahead.

Settling to achieve what is within easy reach may offer some spoils, but it deprives us of potential greatness and the lessons learned in failing to achieve it.

To quote the other great Conan:
"It is our failure to become our perceived ideal that ultimately defines us and makes us unique. It's not easy, but if you accept your misfortune and handle it right, your perceived failure can become a catalyst for profound re-invention."

Pain doesn't make you stronger, it is the lessons learned from from the painful experiences that do. Recoiling from, and suppressing pain obscures us from those lessons. It also prevents us from resolving the true source of the pain.

I wanted 19 - 0 for Brady because I know how hard he has worked this season.
I wanted 19-0 for the same reason. Brady deserve this, BB deserve this, but after those injuries i am worried about Texans, Jets and Dolphins. So i just wanna first seed no more injuries and SB. SB win would be knife trough Godell heart.
Hope that oline comes together no more shuffling.

As for next season, i was talking to some buddy of mine about this season going undefeated, and i said that i think the loss in final two games is possible cause BB would lose startes and i have really high exp bout next year 19-0.
Why? Cause next year rookies on Oline and Dline will have a year more, Brady wont be so angry bout deflategate(i think he was too angry in colts and giants game), CB Roberts, Coleman and maybe Brown, and i hope less injries cause this year was brutal. And even if BB would rest startes in final games Garapollo and co, would be able to pull win out.

I'm just relieved we don't have to hear the stupid media blabbering on... "OHMAHGOD, what will happen if we have THREE TEAMS UNDEFEATED in the AFC?!??! One of them won't get a bye!!!!!" Ignoring the fact that New England had to play Denver, and Denver had to play Cincinnati. And now look where we are, three weeks later, none of them are undefeated, and two of them already have two losses and haven't even played one another yet. God, that was an annoying narrative.

I'm ok with losing. If that is all Denver has to offer, other teams will beat them this season.

IMO Denver's schedule is manageable but not easy. They should beat OAK and SD at home but @ SD @Pitt should be challenging. Home vs Cincy should be a helluva game.

With the exception of @ DEN, Cincy's schedule also seems very manageable.

Either DEN or Cincy will go 13-3 or 12-4.

Right at this moment, the biggest "R" I feel is Regret. Regret that maybe the greatest team I have ever seen, met the end of their shot at a perfect season at the hands of a bushwhackin, scrub, piece of sh*t like Goodell. That team deserved better.

The question is premature.

Until Homefield is locked up, nothing should be left to chance. The luxury of debating the pros and cons of whether the pursuit of a perfect season puts too much pressure on the team has to take a back seat to securing Homefield advantage. Once it's locked up, then the debate could begin; and, there are points to be made on both sides of the issue.

Now, of course, the point is moot.

I don't feel the need to expectorate but I am still micturated at the refs.

Neither. I never gave a **** about going undefeated before. If it happened, great. If the team stumbled on the way? Fine. Just so long as they end the season with the Lombardi. To be honest, I expected a loss sooner or later with the injuries piling up on the offensive side of the ball. I wasn't surprised it happened Sunday night. What's funny, though, is Denver needed some shady officiating and then some just to squeak by the Pats' B squad at home.

Agreed. But, the Patriots' fates regarding both the byes and home field advantage are still within their own control. If they take care of their own business, no other team can overtake them.

I wanted 19-0 and i venture the majority of fans did as well if they say now they don't mind. Well there is always next year :)

Honestly next year they have a very good shot a at 19-0 (if they stay healthy).

Don't get me wrong if losing this games means a likelier chance at a SB win then I am all for it. I don't see how you can make that argument though as IMO no injured players they perhaps could have coaxed into playing would have been able to play effectively anyway.

Well I will settle for a SB this year then 19-0 next year for the 3-peat.

In their hearts the Broncos know they didn't beat them. The Pats got jobbed.

Even the coaches must have had a "WTF?!" voice going off in the back of their heads.

.

actually, had it front and center

"Expectoration" refers to spitting.

I wanted an undefeated season in response to framegate. If Carolina earns that distinction it'll feel like pretenders stole our cheese.

The Panthers have a very good shot at going undefeated. They don't play anybody tough and the teams that are heading into the playoffs aren't exactly on a roll. Injuries will be the only thing to stop them, just like they stopped the Pats.

I voted relief but I really didn't care, the only time a perfect season would have mattered to me would have been at 16-0 because then a loss would have meant no Lombardi, and ultimately that's all that matters, although I would have loved to see Belichick thumb his nose at the league at 15-0 and sitting all of his key players. This however makes it much easier to forget the record and rest guys like Brady and Jones and anyone else who either needs it to get healthy or just for the break. Once HFA or a bye is locked up sit as many as possible and let Jimmy G get some reps.

I never want to see them lose. I never feel good about a loss. I dont care about headlines about a perfect season, or anything like that, but losing sucks.

Theres only so many games in a season. Who the hell wants to lose?
