Patsfanken said last night that the undefeated talk was wildly premature. I agree with him, but there are a lot of Patriot fans and fans around the league wondering if New England will, in fact, go 16-0 again this season.

However…

Our last games are road games against the Jets and Miami.

If we get there at 14-0, would you even want to go for it?

I honestly believe a 5th Superbowl ring would be historic enough (unless, of course, we got a 5th Superbowl ring while being undefeated, which would just be crazy.)

Do you risk the injuries against dirty Suh and the Jets front at 14-0 to go for it, or do you start scaling back starters with the #1 seed locked up and focus entirely on getting a 5th Superbowl ring that puts Tom on a level all his own?

A lot of Patriot fans get excited about the prospect of 16-0, but I wonder if we get to within reach, if we'll even want to go for it. Would be scary as hell given what the Pats are playing for after last years Lombardi.

In Bill Belichick I trust.

Pretty much, but I bet, as tempted as he'll be, he'll think long and hard about it after the Gronkowski injuries probably cost us 2 Superbowl wins.

Play to win the games except for those who need some time (like Lewis last week, etc). Nothing more pathetic than the Colts turtling up and taking their guys out in 2009 or so. Take a chance on greatness. You don't get to where Bill is by being scared.

Team already has to sit a week due to 1st round bye ...
IMO seems like teams that coast at the end pay the price when playoffs start.
Play hard right to the end .... IMO.

2007 team did not have the current offense ... was more restricted ... this team better suited for 19-0 run.
That being said division games are tough ... those last 2 games will be as tough as any of the other 14.
Never take a victory for granted vs Bills - Dolphins or Jets .... especially the Jets.
I think the Jets have a legit shot at the playoffs.

We already know the answer.

They'll play like it's any other game.

They WON'T do the Indianapolis thing, where they **** out at the end, and go one-and-done.

Only if there is a chance to keep the Jets out of the playoffs, then I say go for it, but I would rather lose a game or two since we would have already locked up homefield advantage and win it all than losing players to injury going 16-0 and possibly losing in the playoffs!

Forget 14-0. Imagine if they were 15-0 having clinched everything and they are going into Miami. Remember the 85 Bears on Monday nite when all the 72 alumni showed up and pleaded with players "c'mon you are doing this for the franchise." Remember how hyped that city was for the game?

What happens if Mercury, Csonka and the gang show up and Shula rants about Bellicheat?

Am i the only one when hear the word playoffs, Jim Moras famous rant comes to mind

I'd relish the chance to win a second 16-0 season....especially with the final game taking place in Miami. We'd prove ourselves better than the 73' Dolphins....and the best part of all, is that Don Shula's bitter old ass would be watching helplessly in the stands :D

If we are sitting at 14-0, I say that you 100% play to go undefeated. No question about it.

It is the greatest accomplishment in NFL history to get 19-0. Forget Brady/Belichick's legacy it is an incredible opportunity for the players and I guarantee that they'll want it badly. You can't take it away from them. I don't think we should take our foot off the pedal in fear of a potential injury. Not to mention sitting guys out could also result in a rusty, shaky start to our first playoff game.

Go for 19-0 at that point. And that's not even something I care about right now. #5 is more than enough but if you have the opportunity you've gotta go for it.

The object of football is to win every game you play. I want 19-0 because it's the only thing Brady doesn't have and it's never been done before. That said, it's miles away so I'll be happy with 8-0.

Go for perfection.

A 5th ring, as the best team of all time, cements Bill & Tom as the undisputed GOAT's, I mean literally there would be no argument after that. Its a big FU to everyone: the league, the countless crybabies & haters (extra devestating to Shula), et al. It silences the "can't win without cheating" talk emphatically. It erases any leftover pain from the '07 season that last year didn't.

Everybody wants it deep down.
