Fred Jackson crashes car while drag racing Marshawn Lynch

Doesn't even look like they had a fall guy.

Carroll has been very successful in his time with Seattle. Ultimately the only thing that matters to fans is results. We have seen repeatedly that you could field a defense trained by ISIS and it won't matter to fans as long as they get to the SB. Shallow depth of character is lost in the fog of victory (I think that is embossed on the statue in front of the Ravens' stadium).
So street racing ending in a crash, IF true, by two well established veterans right outside the team's facility? That indicates a major disregard for the team's authority/Carroll. Which, hey, if you are winning doesn't matter. I don't think Pete cares and certainly not fans. But the interesting thing about assembling a team of great drive and ability but lacks discipline or character (call it what you will) is how quick the ship will take on water when storms hit.

Bottom line: with the conditions as they are for the Seahawks, for two veterans to pull this stunt (If true) tells me the Seahawks/Carroll are closer to in trouble than I thought.

The implosion of the Seahawks is getting more fun by the day. I can't wait to see what happens by week 17, especially if they miss the playoffs. Is anyone honestly suprised that this is happening, some of remember Carroll's tenure here and his brand of coaching only works for so long.

In Carroll and SEA defense, things like this (and other semi-socially accepted street racing semi-illegal behavior) are a lot more common away from NE. It' strange how certain behavior is interpreted completely differently depending on your region of US. In other words, if this had happened on Storrow Dr at 3am, it would be a much bigger deal, IMO. But we will see, maybe it strike a social chord and resonates on the sports center trial run.

Yea that's a good point and a good reminder that I'm thinking about it from a Patriots POV. Hey it isn't like these guys plowed down a schoolyard. The wealthy, and by extension entitled, tend to do some "eccentric" stuff. No one was hurt so not too big of a deal.
But the Seahawks have their top franchise status and their vaulted expectations crumbling around them -- not crumbled but definitely crumbling. With that scenario, street racing outside the facility that ends in a crash where their may be fans and reporters to see the whole thing? Hard to fathom this kind of mindset given those team circumstances. If they needed to blow steam off they have the $$$ to do a hundred different things in the right venue. It is also hard to believe this kind of disregard still translates into the kind of focus the Seahawks will need to run off the very high winning % to keep the POs on track. IMHO Seattle doesn't have the swagger/horses to win by sheer ability like the past couple of years. They'll need the focus and dedication to do it. I suspect, and I could be wrong, they lack it.

Reports say no racing....

I'm sure the damage and spin control are in full engagement right now. That's a lot of "integrity" for Goodell to have to deal with.

Hate to say it but that locker room is like a car crash in slow motion.

Ahem....... Even in player-involved car crashes, the Patriots are still th head o the class.

Gentlemen and ladies, I give y0u Patriots wide receiver Irving Fryer.

The Patriots were playing the Bills at Foxboro. (Pats won, 22-19) back in November of '88. At halftime, Fryer, who had injured his shoulder during the 2nd quarter, decided to take his new Mercedes for a "drive". Shortly thereafter, he wrapped it around a tree. He suffered a serious concussion and spent 3 days in the hospital being checked out.

Patriots coaches were unaware of Fryer's abscence until Mass state troopers showed up on the sideline to let them know that their star wr had been involved in a car accident. The staff thought it was a joke at first, until they realized the police were serious.

Fryer had a LOT of 'splainin to do afterward. :)

Ben Coates, Rod Rutledge, Brandon Spikes.........

This has nothing to do with coaching or locker room culture.

How long did Spikes last after his little mishap? 12h?

That Pete Carroll sure does run a tight ship over there.

Quick question - how is being an idiot behind the wheel the coach's fault, exactly?

It is more a culture of no repercussions for there actions. The Seahawks lack discipline on and off the field.

Spikes ≠ Lynch/Jackson

Yet they are often considered the best in the NFC, have won a Super Bowl, and went to another one. Plus, didn't this just happen yesterday? Wait and see approach.

So you're notion here is that Fred Jackson said to himself "Well, if I had a disciplinarian boss at my job I probably wouldn't drag race, but I don't so I'm just gonna floor it."

The dude has been in Seattle for like, 2 months? And suddenly he becomes an insane drag racer?

I think people consistently overestimate the reach an NFL team has into its employees' lives. Blaming Pete Carroll for Fred Jackson driving like an idiot is silly.

I don't think they were really drag racing, as much as some of you seem to want it to be true. TMZ is full of **** and we know that. Someone on the Seahawks forum analyzed it pretty well based on the map of the intersection and the spot/angle of impact, and it looks like Jackson was driving just a bit too fast for the corner and was braking the whole end of it. If he had been racing, he would have flown into the woods.

While we are at it let's blame BB for Kevin Faulk blowing dope, Willie Anderson selling drugs in Lowell, AH pretending he is auditioning for Boyz N the Hood Part II and Spikes trying to take out deer without a gun.

Not long, but if it were Jamie Collins he would still be here. The idea that this is because of Carroll is idiocy, this sh.t happens to every team and for patriot fans to suggest it is organizational is hypocrisy at its finest. The list of dumbass moves by Patriots is long enough to very careful about fingerprinting.
