Does any Pats fan still doubt that all of these investigations, stories, leaks and so on are merely a concerted effort to cripple the most successful team in the NFL?

"If true, then sensational statement" clickbait blogging is such an obvious form of low-effort BS that I don't really get how people can keep getting away with it. Because the public that consumes this stuff is really stupid, I guess.

Decent journalists don't treat the fact that everything they're writing about is completely unsubstantiated as a minor subpoint that they can brush under the rug with some sentence in the third paragraph along the lines of "and yes, we're not positive that this is true (but it probably is because this doesn't count as libel)".

Take a second, breath, count to ten, and then re-read the article. It's actually pretty fair-minded, and dripping with skepticism regarding the claims being made -- note where he points out how little sense it makes that opposing teams wouldn't be above setting up a sting to catch the Pats for illegal videotaping or suspected ball-deflation, but never tried to catch the Pats in the act of stealing the play sheet.

This article isn't piling on the Pats -- it's saying "whoah, them's fighting words," to ESPN, with a subtle implication that if they're going publish allegations like this, they'd better hope it doesn't get blown up like "11 out of 12" did.

As I said it before, teams cant digest that pats have won so much without having a single hall of fame player other than brady over 15 yrs. Compare it with the steel curtain or the cowboys of the 90s or the niners, this just blows their mind that they pay millions of dollars for free agents and draft higher but still cant stop the pats.
People here who bash BB and kraft during game threads should be proud of what BB has done.

Take it to the bank they are coming after BB. We will see if Kraft turtles again.

Personally I actually think this is a hit on the NFL as much as it is a hit on the Pats. I think this is ESPN's way of going after the NFL & Goodell for screwing with Mort and Steven A Smith and using them the way they did. As for all the conjecture and BS.........

Really so teams swept their locker rooms for bugs.....oh wait none were found, because teams are paranoid doesn't mean the Pats cheat.

Broke into locker rooms......what is the response, leave false play sheets? really? Why not leave a low level staff member behind to a) clean the room so there was nothing to find or b) catch them in the act? No we'll leave fake play sheets.......real genius there.

I can't count how many games Pats and ones they weren't even participating in where the comms equipment sh*t the bed.......

Miami used to turn visiting locker room A/C up to max so change between inside and on field would impact players performance. Not to mention Shula used to water the grass to slow teams down.

then of course there is the wind tunnel at the old Giants stadium.........that was all gamesmanship when other teams do it but if the Pats do it......cheating.

All you can do is laugh at these fools knowing that they hate one of the greatest teams of any sport.

Whether it's true or not I expect that the Erroneous Sports Propaganda Network will report that teams are taking precautions when playing the Patriots given this allegation

Specifically their coaches are no longer leaving the first 20 play sheets sitting unsecured in an empty but completely open, vacant locker room

Just be thankful for the Patriots amazing luck that given the dozens if not hundreds of former employees - many if not most of whom are either employed by other teams, or who would have NO PROBLEM coming forward to be paid by ESPN (aka Pravda for the NFL) to tell all

That's really quite impressive when you come down to it
