Brady Courtroom Artist Responds!

I made a mistake. Stevie Wonder didn't sketch it. Stevie Wonder is Jane Rosenberg's TEACHER!!!

I know you meant that as a joke....and it was funny. But my first reaction was that the NFL has a hand in this.

The NFL has been trying to present Brady as a bad guy for the last 6 month with a great deal of success, despite the fact they have no evidence of a crime, let alone Brady was involved. Depicting Brady as ugly villian just furthers the NFL's agenda. They knew that the scum sucking media would take it viral in a nano-second, and within an hour THAT picture will lead every sports segment across the nation, while ESPN will run with every half hour. What a coincidence.

Ken, you are suffering from our collective paranoia on this, I think. This is just a routine court sketch of a dozen or so people, done in a few minutes. People almost never look good in these things. Read her interview; she's just an average person doing an average job.

As to the posters here who assert that they could do a better job, go for it. But realize, the time limits are severe.

I don't buy the notion that Brady spent much of the hearing checking his cell phone. That would be the height of disrespect. The courtrooms I'm familiar with don't even allow cell phones for anyone to be turned on (unless the phone contains some evidence and is needed).
Correct. At least in NH only attorneys are even allowed to bring cell phones into the courtroom and you have to put them on silent. You certainly better not be looking at it while your case is going on, no matter who you are.

I've been in Federal courts in Las Vegas, Wilmington Delaware, and Miami, all as a witness. No cell phones get in, period. Metal detectors, wands, pat-downs, no exceptions, same in all Federal Courts. If anything, Manhattan would be MORE strict.

I had to get special permission to bring in my laptop inside my briefcase.

Well, she was there when Santa was on trial too. WTF is her problem?

She seems to need to strengthen her hand drawing skills.

Really professional of her to respond like that. Classy New Yorker no doubt.
Hey, I'm one and I'm pretty sure I always respond in a tactful and usually kind way. Now move along @##hole. LMAO

By the way, that last sentence is totally a joke! I hate that I even have to add a disclaimer, but I felt it necessary due to our overly sensitive social climate these days.

Just e-mailed her:

Jane,

Please don't drink on the job! Your court renderings today were incomprehensible. Time to reach out for help!

come on, she seems like a supercool chick, and she's just doing some job.
she just became an internet celeb overnight and christ knows what ppl are saying about her.

did you read her little interview?

save your invective for the enemies list + mediots.

You're right. But she's been doing this for decades. I doubt she's losing any sleep over the attention; hell, she's probably cashing in from the extra visits to her web site.

The hilarity ensues!

"......“I don’t tend to flatter people and make them look beautiful,” she said.

Rosenberg said that Brady looks like he’s frowning and looking down because he spent most of the hearing checking his cellphone. “He hardly looked up at all,” she said, adding, with some sarcasm, “Are you interested in what’s going on or what?”

Rosenberg said that even though the drawing has been mocked all over Twitter (ambitious Photoshoppers have put the sketch of Brady’s face in scenes from “E.T.” and in Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”), at least people know whom she was trying to draw.

“At least they can figure out which one is Tom Brady. That’s good, whether he looks good or bad. It’s not just a stick figure of a nobody.........”
I met her at the courthouse when she was walking her drawings around. I thought she was an idiot.

yeah...hi Jane...sensitive Joe Kerr here... please, GFY...do it today.

thanx...

She's an idiot. I doubt in her entire career she's ever had the chance for this much publicity over her drawings. She's milking it for all its worth. Ignore her.

For what it's worth, I actually liked one of her drawings of Brady. I thought it went beyond the normal caricatures or "stick figures" (as someone else has described them). but now that I read what she's been saying, I find it difficult to dissociate her remarks from her work.
