Owners Meeting this week

Yeah it was really inspiring seeing all his fellow owners rush to his side to denounce Goodell when Kraft spoke out against him. I'll never forget it.
They won't ever do it publicly. Ever.

They could at least say nothing then. Several came out in support of the commissioner.

Deflategate will not be a topic this week. It's all about LA and who should get to work building their stadium.
I agree Deflategate is not on the agenda. However, depending on how owners feel about this it could definitely be brought up in new business. Let's see if Roger is asked to leave the room.

I know the NFL has rules about publicly criticizing the league/commish, but my question is, what IS Kraft allowed to do in private?

For instance, maybe he can't publish all the BS emails back/forth with the league to the whole public, build a case against Roger, show how full of **** he is... but can he put together a document like that and distribute it to the other 31 owners in private? Lobby to get Roger thrown out for his nonsense? Would such an action be against the NFL rules?

I would assume the owners are allowed to be blunt/honest in private amongst eachother...
Honestly, I don't think it matters what he says to his fellow owners at this point. They are sick and tired of watching the Patriots dominate the league and will use any means necessary to knock them from the top.

Kraft is weak. We've read this and that on this board for half a year... Kraft will do this, such and such will happen...

Kraft hasn't done anything of value save a nifty website and a couple of speeches without backing.
Lots of weak self-made billionaires out there.

I'm not going to hold my breath but I would think logically that the owners don't like the commissioner flat out calling the best player of the past 14 years and 4 time champion a cheater. It's just not good for business. "Generally aware" isn't good either but doubling down and changing the ruling then lying about it is really a bad look.

That said some of the other owners have proven themselves to be petty and short sighted so I would guess they don't talk about it at all other than laughing at Kraft.

If you are being genuine - you are right. Making money doesn't make you special, it makes you rich. If you are being sassy - then you equate $ with self worth. We would be very different in that respect.
Wait, what? Where on earth did you pull that construction out of?

For the record, I don't believe either of those half-assed assertions. I do, however, think that someone who has made himself a billionaire on his own is not, by any stretch of the imagination, weak. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of bodies of people who made the mistake of thinking that buried all over the place.

Addendum: You might want to take a look at the details of how Kraft acquired the Patriots in the first place.

You can be weak. I know a millionaire down the road. "Self made". But he is a complete moron who made one good purchase and got lucky. Not saying these owners are : but just because you are a self made millionaire doesn't mean you are strong. Kraft keeled over. Weak.

Moron does not equal weak. But we'll let that slide. I direct you back to my addendum to the previous post. Take a look at the details of how Kraft acquired the Patriots.

As noted by others, these guys are mostly self-made guys who know how to negotiate deals, and how to play with parties that they don't like.

Not saying it'll happen, but Jerry might say something to Kraft like - I'm still pissed at what you did to me on the cap issue; I'll play ball on getting Goodell and his minions removed and getting a better governance process, but because of what you did to me earlier, I will only support it provided that you promise not to contest the penalties Goodell gave you and you allow me to run xyz committee. That's how these guys operate - especially if they're thinking rationally and realizing that Goodell is more of a liability than an asset to the league at this point.

You are right : it's going nowheres. I fear (expect) nothing will come from Kraft's "about face". I have been exceedingly down on him since his acceptance of the penalties as I see them as worse than the four games. It was a stupid move then, stupider still now. And the hugging and strolling hand in hand with RG didn't add anything....

I have lost respect for Kraft and will not be easily be swayed back.

I was pissed off Kraft showed up at the last owner's meeting, and it turns out that's where he bent over and let Goodell rape him. Here comes round II. You know he will back down, kiss and make up, and take it up the wazoo once again.

What exactly did Bob do to Jerry? Take one for the team? Jerry isn't his own man? The owners agreed to adhere to the 2010 cap year and Jerrah went rogue. He pissed off a lot of owners.

If Kraft shows up with a baseball bat, we'll know he's serious.

So Kraft helps get the CBA done and negoitates a $19b TV package and the other 31 owners want nothing to do with him? Really?

Don't you know? He's really a dumb quaking coward,

Sorry, but I have a bad feeling we'll either hear nothing about Framegate, or else we'll hear Bob oscillating back toward the NFL Company Line. Hope I'm wrong.
