I've been trying to re-work Naughty By Nature's OPP using Pierre-Paul's initials, but I haven't been able to get beyond "What's wrong with JPP? / Where's my pink-ee?"
I was listening to Miller and Kirwan today discussing a Jason Cole report that didn't paint a positive picture for the JPP. They mentioned skin grafts on his hand, which someone brought up earlier, that he can't do any lifting while he's recovering, and that he'd probably start the season on the Non-Football Injury list. I think that means he misses the first 6 games at a minimum, which puts the Giants defense in a hole.
Kirwan wouldn't get into specifics, but he said he had heard some stories about the circumstances of the injury that don't reflect positively on Pierre-Paul. Unless the situation was that someone tossed an M-80 toward a group of children and JPP grabbed it to save them, it's only a question of how dumb and irresponsible he was behaving.
In terms of players hands in general, I think it was Tim Green, a former Falcons d-lineman, who mentioned how players appreciate it if fans don't squeeze hard when they shake hands because their hands are so beat up. JPP doesn't just need his hand to heal, he needs it to be able to withstand the rigors of a football game. That means possibly getting his hand slapped by an o-lineman, using it to break his fall or sticking it in front of pass, among other things.
