If they suspend Brady for a year, I wouldn't be surprised if he just said, **** it, and retires. He doesn't have anything else to prove, he is one of the top 3 QBs of all time, no matter how you slice it.
If that scenario happened. Brady would have a hard time getting into HOF much less being talked about as one of the greatest. Will make him look like the ultimate cheater

So they have nothing but a bunch of text messages taken out of context, yet the whole franchise is going to get raked over the coals, yet again, by the national media. Wow.

Everytime my dog pees on the floor my wife and I exchange joking texts about beating him. Taken out of context you'd think we were serious. I see nothing in there that says anything about deflating balls after they're in play but we do see an instance where the balls the refs put into play were 16, and apparently that's not at all an issue. We have actual video evidence of a team this past year heating the balls on the sideline, and that's not a big deal. This is friggin absurd.

Page 128: "As discussed above, Brady‟s refusal to provide us with his own emails, text messages and phone records on relevant topics, in response to our narrowly tailored requests, limited the evidence available for our review and analysis. We believe that our findings are nevertheless supported by the evidence and information available to us during the course of our work."

It is more probable than not that Wells is pissed because Brady wouldn't let Wells scroll through his selfies with Giselle on the beach in Brazil.

I read the whole report. If the best you can do is an "it is more probable than not" conclusion and "Brady generally knew..." conclusion, then the penalty will be a fine and new procedures to keep the balls in the custody of the refs.

I am surprised in the conclusion that Wells doesn't blast the NFL for the chain of custody. That is what is really indicted here.

I have to completely agree with this.

BUT (devils advocate here)

What is he supposed to say? We refuse to deal with how the NFL is handling this? Piss off 31 other owners and their staff?

At this point, yes. Spygate was so over the top and now the same thing again, over something so trivial.

Sheesh, I am actually happy that i don't live in the US right about now. I only have limited access to the american midia and I am already nauseous about the parciality in which this is being handled AND the public outcry.

Good luck to you all fellas, you'll need it
I was thinking the same thing, glad I am in Denmark.

This will be 100^100 times worse than the media hiatus I had to take after super bowls '07 and '11.

And I live in Ohio. So I'll essentially never stop hearing about it till I move. I guess I gotta embrace the "hated" team fandom. Take on a hard edge.

No more trying to explain, or reason. Bring it on.

:D

That was an almost word-for-word repetition of a conversation had in my household last night. For the record, the entire thing was spoken in jest as part of a running joke, and both parties knew that from the beginning.

It's very common, but if your texts were made public, social media would be outraged and jump to all sorts of conclusions..

Because as a society we're ****ed up, just like this report

Kraft is a gutless puke for taking this lying down.

As much as his words sound like protest - he's all about 'protecting the league' rather than his own team/coach/QB.

Wouldn't be surprised if Brady and/or Belichick walk away from the game after this shameless witchhunt.

Why should they operate under the constant suspicion of wrong doing that this BS 'report' all but guarantees?

F*ck the NFL and F*ck Kraft and his buddies.

You're missing the point here. With regards to the teams/coaches/owners, Goodell has an easier time with guilty 'verdicts' and with punishments, because there is no CBA to protect that group.

Kraft can't win. His only other option is to go nuclear despite the findings and impending punishments. I'd go nuclear, and it would be one hell of a press conference when I did so, but that's not Bob's style.

Kraft and company should be calling for Goodell's job after this stupid report. How can Goodell let a report come out that says maybe or probably this happened. It's either you have proof or you don't. Goodell is an idiot.

Some advice avoid all the talking heads on ESPN, NFL network or any of the other nitwits who will spout this idiocy and make up even more conclusions.. more probable than not.

What, if anything, could TB12 do?

Brady is obviously going to be suspended, and I doubt that it's only for a game or two.

Suspended for what? Because some lawyer the NFL hired uncovered some vague text messages and was butt hurt Brady didn't hand over his cell phone?

Well then they better suspend Aaron Rodgers too who is on record saying he tries to get over-inflated balls past refs.

so those texts between the two ball boys only complain about tom being a PITA about how the footballs are prepared. I haven't seen anything about them talking about doing anything to footballs after ref check. does anyone see that anywhere?
Doesn't it say Brady will have footballs like watermelons? I would suspect that is contrary. In other words, this is horse crap.

The first exchange was after an Oct. 17, 2014 game against the Jets when Brady complained about the pressure of the balls.

Jastremski wrote “Tom sucks. im going make that next ball a f—in balloon.” BIGGER NOT SMALLER

McNally replied: “Talked to him last night. He actually brought you up and said you must have a lot of stress trying to get them done…” YEAH...SO?

McNally, apparently not a fan of Brady’s (or at least his level of attention of air pressure) made several references to pumping the balls up to “watermleon” or “rugby” size, since Brady preferred softer ones for better control. BIGGER NOT SMALLER

Where is the smoking gun? The guy threatened to overinflated them.

Boy I hope Wells doesn't try to nail me for something that I didn't do.
I will defend TB on one part. There are hundreds of "BEE" laborers in that facility. This guy is part time. If he does not know a employee by name that would make some sense.

I would bet Godell does not know the name of everyone of his employees.

Giving an employee a game ball or jersey (even part timers) does not implicate ole' TB. In fact more than likely a perc in the job and common practice. Didn't two officials get nailed for getting game balls here?

So if Brady goes down so does Rogers right? He admitted it!

Checking the weather, the temp on the night of Oct. 16th was 60 degrees that night. What am I missing? Kraft said four of the COLTS balls were under as well.

Yes, and this is just part of why I've been so firmly against the idea of the NFL taking jurisdiction over player behavior.

Obviously Brady wasn't going to turn his freaking phone over to that old, creeper of a man Wells for him to systematically go through and log everything in it.. Brady is a very high profile man that has a lot of high profile friends and has lots of PRIVATE conversations with people via those texts.

Agreed.

However, the report says the investigators told Brady they were willing to get the info via Brady's lawyer and that Brady's lawyer could screen out non-germane things:

Wells report said:
we offered to allow Brady's counsel to screen and control the production so that it would be limited strictly to responsive materials and would not involve our taking possession of Brady‟s telephone or other electronic devices.

Amazing that some people need to be reminded of this. Then they come back and whine about what the pundits are saying.

Brady is obviously going to be suspended, and I doubt that it's only for a game or two.

The backlash would be tremendous. The public is going to want a significant punishment.

So much for "Sharks of Vegas" being right about everything, and the idea of everyone else being punished.

The NFLPA is going to have a field day with "more probable than not".
