Well we didn't have a 5th round pick so Bill just gave us one....Perfect.. As I have said best coach ever and mediocre at best Drafter. Yes...... AT BEST!

Pick up a great pick in Brown @ #1 and lose all of your credibility in this debacle

The bright side is at least we have Drafted a back up for Tavon Wilson in case he ever goes down....... if he ever plays.

On second thought, maybe they fell asleep at the Stadium and thought it was the sixth round?

I understand the Rogers kid is much better than Cann, Poutasi, Lockett or Strong who went after him.

For sure EGO...."I'll show you all" as his bird is flipping.

Still love the man as the best HC ever, even if he does not have a clue. I guess we are collecting slow safeties that are awful smart to play special Teams because they are not NFL talents. We have Chung, Harmon, Wilson and now this guy. The good news is one or two of these guys get cut.

Watcb thus video He teaches a tackling drill.
See why BB loved the kid.
Don't think he will get beat or tricked at the line sharp kid.

I look forward to BB making a WTF pick just to see the reactions of the armchair GMs here. Always good comedy.

There is nothing wrong with Bill wanting this guy. But we could have gotten him in the 4th if we really wanted him. That would have been infinitely more understandable. It was not necessary to use a freaking 2nd round pick on this guy. I don't understand. If you want him TAKE HIM LATER. HE WILL BE THERE.

You can't just look at Richards, you have to consider who else was there at the time. Like : plug and play guard AJ Cann, dynamic WR Jalean Strong (1st round talent in many opinions), impactful RB Tevin Coleman, fantastic return man and blazing WR Tyler Lockett and WR Rashad Green, LB Eli Harold, not to mention the underrated and future star CB DJ Smith. Richards will contribute, great. But he would have likely been there 120 picks later. If not, then any of the guys listed above would be starters or first subs and the trade off would have been worth it. Bad pick, BB. Sorry.

Why are you apologizing?

Arm chair GMs have much better track record than BB with early round wtf reach picks. Mankins is the only one I can think of who worked out.
Well, seeing that a whole lot of draft picks don't work out every single year, constantly poo-pooing picks doesn't impress me.

Wow...... You mean to tell me that BB picked an extremely intelligent, no-name, Ivy-league player at a spot the rest of the so-called "experts" thought was too early?????? YOU DONT SAY.

Jesus people....... I know we all have our draft binkys that WE want BB to pick, but unless this is your 1st NEP draft day, NO ONE should be to suprised by this pick. In Bill I (still) Trust.

Over the past 10 years Belichick has made how many 2nd round DB picks? IIRC not a single one has worked out besides maybe Pat Chung. Not a single one.

Patriots Draft SS Jordan Richards in Round Two

Ian Logue

Jordan Richards becomes just the second player ever selected out of Stanford during the Belichick era, with the last being Cameron Fleming, who was taken in the fourth round last year.
