Bradley Fletcher signing with Pats

He was definately better, but certainly not perfect. He very well might revert to his poor coverage without Revis and Browner. Might be better of with another free safety with these potentially bad corners starting.
Where did I write cut him already? How about reading the full post before accusing me of what I didnt say.

I read the full post. "Not sure Chung is even worth having." You didn't say cut him, but you went pretty negative with that statement after starting out saying he was better and then worrying he might possibly revert. You definitely didn't give him a chance to see whether he does revert, just jumped to a negative conclusion based on fear of an uncertainty.

I'm actually ecstatic they signed Bradley Fletcher, he was amazing in American Hustle. I wasn't aware he played football too!

I don't think this was the intended point, but what I took from it :

"Davis, who has sent Fletcher out to cover Jordy Nelson, Dez Bryant and DeSean Jackson with little or no safety help"

Is that not many CB would have been successful is that's a correct description of how the Eagles used Fletcher.

Indeed. Davis' quotes didn't really indicate much in the way of deep thinking.

People here actually got mad at me when I said the pats might have to look at Cary Williams after Revis but now Fletcher and McClain are the guys available for them to sign. These signings are very low risk, they aren't getting paid anything and depth never hurts

Oh teh noes! Bradley Fletcher has been signed! The sky is falling! Bill's lost his grip on reality!! We are d00med!!!

The petulance here among the cynics is disturbing.

So, if you can't criticize before the results are in without being stupid that means you can't give praise either. It goes both ways, or its just hypocrisy.

Agree, in principle. However I did not say it was wrong to cite facts, good and bad, just saying it is wrong to jump to conclusions. For example, saying a guy is slow or apparently had his confidence shattered is factual, jumping to the conclusion that those mean he must fail here playing zone in front of McCourty because he got burned playing press man with no safety help is just not supported by anything until the results are in.

bend..then hopefully don't break D once again...

Are there any stud CBs we can trade up for?

I said might. Theres no reason not to give him a chance. And hes still a pretty cheap player so even if he doesn't end up starting at worst hes a very good special teamer and probably would have a special role on defense somewhere. If I didnt give him a chance I would have said chung is going to suck now so let's cut him.

We go from Revis to this????Yikes!!!!! I guess the Pats FO believes they have a 5 year honeymoon period between Super Bowl wins. 10-6 and a division win is good enough in their eyes I guess

please tell me what BB sees in Bradley Fletcher

If I had to guess...

A corner who was solid in 2012-13 and regressed badly in 2014, due in no small part to poor coaching/scheme and a dumpster fire at safety. One man's trash is another man's treasure, and all that. Or he could just be straight trash. Never know until you find out!

After the rage has settled....:D

@RavensInsider: Bradley Fletcher 1-yr, $1.5M Patriots deal, $100K bonus, $800K salary, $250K of base gtd, $18,750 per game, up to $1M incentives

That's honestly a good deal for a gamble on a depth corner. Atleast he can be cut with no issue really.

It looks to me like Belichick doesn't think Chip Kelly can coach a secondary. Two years in a row, he's picked up a guy coming off a distastrous year in Philly.

I can come out now? The sky isn't falling?

I am not going to bash this until I see how he performs in live action during training camp/pre-season. But I don't think he is as bad as advertised. Our system is conservative and his deficiencies can be masked. But the reason I am optimistic is that the dude had like 22 pass deflections. That is really high and tells me that he is close enough on a pretty consistent basis. Maybe we can actually fix him and have results similar to Chung's.

Seriously. There's some 'fans' who have really embarrassed themselves in this forum with their tantrum throwing.
Real "fans" of this team wouldnt act this way. This is the Patriots. We dont live or die by any player nor let any player dictate how we do business.

Either these idiot "fans" arent fans because they havent noticed this the last 15 years or they are just madden stat idiots who dont really care about winning.

Regardless, the board would be much better off without these imbeciles.
