Wow, Gronk, chandler and lafell in the red zone. Pats red zone efficiency should double.

Things are looking up here in N.E. after the losses of Browner and Revis! Hoping for maybe another signing or two or more (and possibly a trade) and then have a good draft.

In Bill We Trust!!!!!!!

Wright won't be sleeping well.

Nice pick-up and glad he's not with the Ratbirds.

I've always liked Chandler - 500-650 yard receiver who quietly goes about his business. Good hands, good routes...he will fit in well here.

I hope it's a 3 year deal, at least, honestly.

Excited by the pickup. A quality big TE to serve next to Gronk. If Gronk had some injury problems it's nice insurance too. Always felt meh when Hooman was the next guy up.

Wright won't be sleeping well.

I do think Hooman will have more trouble sleeping though as said, neither one should feel comfortable.

Hooman simply doesn't produce nor does he block well, he was completely negated by Chandler where Wright, in theory, can fill another role if asked to.

The fact that Hooman will also clear cap space hurts his case as well.

tl;dr - Hooman's role was replace, Wright still the #3 TE/#x WR.

I like Hooman's swagger. And he was clutch late against Baltimore.

Tim Wright or Hooman are gonners.

Hooman is gone, he's a waste of a roster spot at this point.

Gronk and chandler are light years better blockers and receivers, wright is a better receiver and develin can fill in on special teams and add as an extra blocking tight end

Hoomanawanui is making too much money to keep. . He plays a lot of snaps but as a blocker which can now easily be replaced by more versatile talent

LOL @ the Jets. Bill always one step ahead. They just spent 8 billion on corners, and we'll kill them with TEs.

What makes that even better is Todd Bowles' defenses don't cover the TE well.

Last season the Cardinals gave up 85 receptions for 1085 yards, 8 TDs....all on 118 targets.

It will be interesting to see what McD can do with Gronk as the move TE and Chandler as the traditional TE.
That will create matchup nightmares on Gronk, while having a good player at the traditional TE spot.

No reason for Wright to go.

I agree. we know Chandler beats out Hooman so that has been determined.

They already have Develin as #3/#4 TE plus o-lineman du jour

Only reason they let Wright go is that the team feels he is just too small for the position, cannot transition to a WR and they draft someone that is that AH-type hybrid player that beats him out in camp.

Think we'll be looking at a very heavy dose of innovative 2TE formations. This will be where Bill will bring his new surprises with Gronk playing all over the field. This is a great pickup for the offense; sorry for our Hawaiian JAG; he did his job but this isa significant upgrade.

Those are insane numbers, holy crap.

The Jets safeties aren't exactly the hottest group in the NFL, either.
