As @PatsWickedPissah notes--we will not be able to keep ALL of our important players, and neither can any other NFL team, so we'll have to trust Belichick and his ability to prioritize.

I'm pretty sure the Rats can keep all of THEIR most valued players.

Ooops, my Bad! You said NFL team.

Well, if the Eagles trade up to one the Jets can draft Winston assuming Tennessee passes on him

Are you sold on Mariota /winston?

I'm not sold on either one, and as long as the Rats have to pay through the nose to move up I'm good with them taking either one.

Cooper
Matthews
32 year old Frank Gore
32 year old Darren Sproles

What a fast offense,
I'm terrified Chip.

Yahoo's Charles Robinson saying Pats and DMac in negotiations. Wonder how that impacts Revis

If they both come back free up cap then sign a Spiller or Bush best free agency ever.

In fairness to Philly, Matthews looks like a #1 in the making. Still, losing Maclin is a significant problem especially if the Eagles plan to move out of the early rounds of the draft for the foreseeable future.

Perhaps Philly makes a run at Crabtree, Harvin, Denarius Moore (whom I rate highly) etc.

Agree with Harvin and Moore would Like to see one with New England.

So, given the Pats reportedly receiver shopping, I expect DA to be a June 1 cut (spread the 3.6 dead hit).

Also, is it possible that Solder gets the heave ho tomorrow? 7.5 against the cap this year on the option - no dead money if they release him. That money ucold go a long way toward retaining McCourty and/or Revis.

They just signed Cannon to an extension, remember.
I am not as down on Solder as most. But he is not worth 7.5 mil. Agree with your projection. Pay cut or let him go. Rather Revis/ McCourty.

That would be a 15.5 mil savings from (Wilfork/Solder). We were 11 mil over with Revis's 20 mil cap hit. Revis 13 mil and McCourty 7 mil average. More guaranteed money. We would be 4.5 under the cap.

Solder would be worth 4 mil. Or go in a different direction with savings. Then on to Mayo to take a cut to complete phase one.

Wait maclin to chiefs. Though i read he was close to resigning with eagles?

Any combination with Cannon as a starter would be a little concerning to me :)

Not to mention the OL coach recently(ish) praised Solder - even naming other LTs who rate below Solder in his mind. Seemed genuine. A Solder cut this week would surprise me more than the Mankins release.

I certainly don't see Solder getting cut, but I raised the idea in the draft forum a few weeks ago about potentially trading him. With the lack of high end LT's available in this years draft we could probably get a nice pick for him and shed nearly $7.5mil against the cap. Move Vollmer to LT, Cannon or Fleming at RT and draft someone like DJ Humphries to develop as a LT.

Now I don't think there is any chance this actually happens, but I personally would consider it because we are in a tough cap situation with Revis and McCourty's contracts this year and Hightower and Chandler Jones coming up in the future. If we had to prioritize our current and future FA's I would have Revis, McCourty, Collins, Hightower and Jones above Solder. He just scares me long term and I think he could command $9mil/yr which is too much for me. Although I think its more likely he is extended rather than cut/traded.

Yeah, you don't excercise a 5th year option on a top 15-20 LT and then cut him with no compensation. Bill doesn't do buisiness like that.

The waiting is he hardest part...

I cheer for the team, and I am more than ok with players moving on if it benefits the team I follow. But even though I recognize McCourty is not a Canton-bound alltimer, I just like so so many things he brings to the Patriots. (1) by all accounts, he is an excellent teammate (2) he is rarely out of position (3) he competes at a high level.

There is a number that makes no sense and if Philly is willing to give him the world, I can understand someone wanting to grab the cash. But I am also pretty confident the Patriots are ok with compensating him more than most of us on this board will make in our lifetime.

This week is gonna be wild people !

Is it just me or is the money the Dolphins are paying Suh absolutely insane?

I mean it's alot of money but how can this not help the dolphins.

I for one won't make fun of them for getting one of the best players in the league.

People said the same thing about Mario Williams to the bills but thst defense has been really good and if they even had a Avg qb they'd be a problem.

Did I see Maclin to the Chiefs? Thought he had resigned with the Eagles. That's a team that sorely needed an upgrade at WR, though.

Maclin is reported to the Chiefs
The Chiefs have gotten Hali to take a restructure/paycut
The Chiefs are expected to cut Bowe
The Chiefs are trying to find a way to keep Hudson

As of right now, I'm looking for the Chiefs to take an OL and a WR in the first 3 (probably first 2) rounds of this years draft.
