Will patriots lawyers be also involved in this process ?

I dont know. Even the saints did all this I think and Roger slammed Payton with 'ignorance is not an excuse'. I dont trust the NFL. They cant invest all these resources and come out looking like idiots. Pats are going to get hit . How hard I don't know.

I agree. There will be no suspensions without evidence, but the league is going to say the Patriots are guilty even if they can't prove it. There will be fine and a loss of draft picks.

This has been a real momentum changer.

Hi folks, I'm Dan. Long time reader and Patriots fan, but I guess I decided to make my first post on this matter. Sirius NFL Radio doesn't seem interested in hearing my thoughts:

It seems to me, after reading the rules and ball regulations from the NFL, as long as the ball meets inflation regulations when the referees inspect them...criteria met. In my opinion, the league absolutely cannot ensure 100% that the pressure in all footballs in all games falls within that specified range in all nonstandard atmospheric conditions through the season. The simple solution in this case is, if the weather was in fact a part of the issue here, modify the rules to state that the ball will be inflated such that the air pressure will fall within a specified range during actual game conditions and just add a halftime check similar to the AFCCG.

Also, the videos posted in other threads about people trying to notice the difference between a ball inflated to 10psi and 13.5psi is really speaking to a hidden agenda here. Just my $0.02. I'm on to focusing on the game itself. It is nice to meet you all, by the way.

Welcome to Patsfans!

Based on the content/intent/timing of the NFL statement, I conclude:

1) the official did NOT, in fact, gauge test each football...or all 12 footballs...and his assertion that they were "in compliance" (as the NFL wants us to believe) was predicated on a simple feel test or visual test.
2) the NFL will position themselves, in this respect, to say that they expect footballs to be delivered to the game official that are already within psi spec, and that's why the have the rule. Teams are NOT to submit footballs for inspection that they either know or suspect may be outside the legal psi range.
3) In the off-season, the NFL will have the Competition Committee re-evaluate what that psi range should be going forward.

Come on team, let's go for 300! Run up the score!

I really believe this all started when Brady laughed off Harbaugh's comments after the divisional game and said, "Maybe those guys gotta study the rulebook and figure it out."

Harbaugh becomes incensed and embarrassed and makes a phone call...

At no point does this NFL statement say the balls were deflated or that the PSI dropped. Not once. This is not a mistake. They have nothing. Lawyers wrote this and this omission is not a mistake.

In which way?

I'm talking about the controversy in general.

We just came off a blowout win, we should feel unstoppable. Seahawks came off an emotional win, they should feel great. It seems like both teams are now starting from scratch, momentum-wise.
