My apologies for the redundant BDC posts, but I figured some here would be interested in this post via that same guy over there. He put this up around 7 AM today.

Look, I am stating this coming from 2 angles...

1) I am in contact with someone who is regularly around the team, and has pretty good insider access. at one time was an insider, is no longer an insider, but is around the team a lot. he says this type of draconian ball deflation has never been on the Pats radar, ever. he has seen the team practice this year in inclement weather, and never a mention of the ball PSI

2) Second person has some pretty good connections in the league office. the league is aware that all teams manipulate balls to their liking with in reason. the league is ok with it, but if caught there is a wrist slap (see Panthers and Vikes this year alone)..the PAts were ratted on by the Ravens and Colts in tandem. The league had to investigate...BB's hands are not on this. Brady may have told the ball boys how he likes the balls..but this is SOP for every game, every team..

League office is ready, but needs to insure it is well checked and worded...

Again, this is not what I think, but what was told to me 2 days ago by 2 different people I feel are in the know...

Might they be wrong? Sure. But they feel pretty confident on what they are saying

The one hang up is Goodell...does he try to reclaim his reputation on the back of BB? It is up to Kraft to make sure he doesnt...Kraft is very persuasive in that office

Just bagged on Mort on twitter. You guys should do the same. **** him.

We embarrassed Harbaugh because he didn't know the rules. He looked up and his buddy was coming ot Foxboro next. I don't think its too hard to guess after just playing in 20 degree weather that the balls could get underinflated. So he told his buddy to warn the officials that they suspect it. If they were fine no one would know.

It´s conjecture, but if true, I can´t see how the other NFL teams will look at the Colts and Pagano in a favorable light. You have former players, former coaches, current players, current coaches, management, all of them declaring how they manipulate footballs and how this whole thing is no big deal. Look at the timeline:

- Colts staff reports the football to the NFL officials. Remember this is the 2nd time they reported something like this, but they were essentially told "okay, whatever". Your team lost.
- Refs don´t make a big stink about it, game plays on and the Patriots crush the Colts
- After the game, a source within the Colts organization tells Kravitz about the football situation
- Kravitz tweets it out, gets picked up by the national media, and chaos ensues
- Pagano and his crew deny ever reporting the football, then it comes out that they did, and he doesn´t want to comment on it.

Why doesn´t he want to comment on it? Because he knows he messed up. Someone in his organization reported it to Kravitz who is a known Patriots hater and will do anything to get a negative story on the Patriots out there. The Colts created an unnecessary headache for the league during their build to the Super Bowl. Of all the times in the world, during the Super Bowl. And, it´s an issue most teams do not have a problem with if the Patriots did what they did. If they are innocent, the Colts and Kravitz created an uproar over nothing. Nice job there Indy.

Whatever happened to the pumping in crowd noise investigation? Did they just pretty much ignore it?

Idk how king could compare this to sean payton.BB basically said he knew nothinh and I honestly believe him. This is a qb thing like most have mentioned.I am sure brady will have his explanation

As expected

<<< Belichick often deflects comments on mega-stories. Came out swinging here. Obviously will say to NFL: “I knew absolutely nothing.

RT @ThemailmanJamie: Sean Payton knew nothing but was suspended a year …You think Payton didn’t know what half his team was doing? Good one.

Wow that's douchey.

I mean I'm all for publicly calling people out as liars with no proof --oh wait, no I'm not.

I'm guessing the NFL is waiting on Brady's presser till they release anything. Honestly, after all this hoopla, it's a pretty simple explanation really:

- Colts inflated their balls at 13.5 PSI, thus the temperature change dropped it down to 12.5, which is the league approved minimum.
- Patriots inflated their balls at 12.5 PSI, thus the temperature change dropped it down t0 11.5, which is under the league approved minimum.

At halftime, the discrepancy was noticed and correct. Boom done. No harm, no foul, no cheating and no suspension or punishment for the Pats. They can now further elaborate on adjusting the rule in the offseason.

Kinda hard to believe he wouldn't but, at the same time how would BB know what grip and psi is best?

I don't think the "12.5 down to 12.3 or whatever" was an arbitrary number just thrown out there. That was a **** your 2lbs it was .2lbs.

Understand that, but if the reports are true, that the Pats had a ref approved set of balls before the game, and they went under at halftime, it would certainly explain it all and put this situation to rest.

Honestly, if that is the case, it proves how f*****g ridiculous this situation really is and how the Colts pretty much tattled taled on an every game event, in order to toss sand at the Pats. Sure do hope Kraft get them back for this...

what would be the rule against that?

http://www.csnne.com/new-england-patriots/curran-focus-moves-brady-and-nfls-sting

Wednesday night, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported that the league planned during the week to check the ball pressure of the Patriots footballs at halftime of the win over the Colts.

The league, according to Glazer, had been tipped off to the Patriots using under-inflated balls.

That raises two questions. First, why didn’t the league reach out to the Patriots and let them know there were concerns and they needed to be aware they were being monitored?

Second, if the league suspected the Patriots were using underinflated footballs and thought that would impact the game, why would even allow a chance that the game would be compromised?

If the answer is that the NFL wanted to “catch” the Patriots – Belichick in particular – red-handed, then they risked the Patriots gaining a first-half advantage over Indianapolis in the AFC Championship to do so.

Which, to me, would show just how deep the enmity for Belichick and the Patriots run at the league level. They would rather set him up than ensure the game isn’t compromised.

To say nothing of the fact the league itself would have known this circus of controversy and accusation would have been the result of the “sting” they ran

Belichick is never going to be a sympathetic figure, but he was very clearly shaken as he made his remarks Thursday.

He truly appears to have been blindsided.

SIAP.

Given that the outcome of the NFL investigation could make the refs/league look incompetent, I am starting to wonder exactly what the league is going to hide or manipulate in the final report. It really sucks that there is no impartial investigator in this.

Thinking back, by leaking all the news to mort, the league had done a big disservice to the pats. All judgement is being passed as if the pats footballs were 10.5 psi . They have to be more transparent and not leak news to create all these headlines.
