Not trying to be negative, so apologies--but my deepest concern is that one of two scenarios will play out:

1) (more likely in my opinion)---The NFL will find that no clear cut evidence exists of the team doing anything wrong, however will still adhere to the 25,000 fine due to it being "the responsibility of the home team to provide balls that are inflated to the proper size."

The media headlines will read "NFL finds Patriots guilty, fines them 25, 000."

Remember that Goodell stated that spygate did not give us a competitive advantage, but who outside of N.England remembers anything close to that? No one.

2) (less likely in my opinion)---The NFL finds us guilty, takes away a mid round draft pick, and fines both the team and Belichick. Horrible scenario.

Or 3) The NFL finds TV camera footage of a Colts employee doctoring the ball D'Qwell Jackson intercepted then curiously gave to the Colts equipment manager rather than a ref., questions a few low level Colts employees, and concludes the Colts doctored a ball and used it to try to frame the Pats. The league fines Irsay the max, bans Jackson and equipment manager and anyone else in on the plan for life and awards the Pats all of the Colts' 2015 draft picks. :D

No, it's not at all clear that it is not what Brady was saying. That's the point. There's no need to take something and twist it. Brady liking a more deflated football doesn't change the innocence, or guilt, of the Patriots, so why to pull a Florio/Rosenberg?

What exactly is your opinion on what Brady is saying, based on the quote from the espn article that Florio was referring to?

Jackson: Coach this ball ain't right... It's not like a normal football that feels like... It's like a bag of sand...

Pagano: What? Have you ever actually felt a football before?

If Brady likes them at 12.5 and they are filled and tested at 70 degrees then what happens to the psi at 45 degrees? It's by definition too low. But by how much.

By ~ 5% making the ball just under 12 psi

Use PV = nRT with T in degrees kelvin

Boston College says this math is not possible. NOT POSSIBLE!

Ever get a low tire pressure warning in your car on a frigid day? BB DID IT!!! It's the only possible explanation. Temperature has no effect on air pressure. This is established fact.

It's also undeniable, absolute fact that warm air expands & cold air contracts.

Try this....fill a balloon in a room that is 70 degrees and then place it in your freezer for 10 minutes. When you take the balloon out, it will look almost empty. It works exactly the same way with a football

Sometimes I think my sarcasm is not telegraphed properly on the board. My apologies if so. Clearly you're correct and I agree.

It's ambiguous. It could be referring specifically to the Gronk-spiked football that he's saying gets deflated, but it could also be referring to deflated footballs in general. Neither one really matters to the question of whether or not the Patriots tampered with the footballs, so why lower ourselves to the level of some of these media clowns?

Sorry I missed your sarcasm!

This is such a non-story that Gregg Easterbrook didn't even mention in his TMQ...I mean that guy jumps all over anything that has to do with potential cheating.

Do Pats fans really care if other teams call us cheaters? Seriously!

I don't care at all and I can't believe how worked up some members are getting.

Please accept the fact that this is only about envy. It started with the loser Ravens insinuating ("no one has EVER seen those formations!") the Pats cheated.

And now frikk'n under-inflated footballs?! Ahahahaha!

Only LOSER opposing fans think this is a big deal....no one else so in the words of Rodgers, "R-E-L-A-X"

I'm seeing too many men with their panties in a bunch

Fair enough.

I'm inclined to believe it is about scoring touchdowns and celebrating touchdowns, but I can certainly see your point.

However, I will say that in my opinion Florio took a giant leap in regards to the same quote and his headline and blog entry. To me PFT intentionally misled readers, in the name of more page views. Not that their doing so should be the least bit surprising.

Or you just try it with a football and a tire pressure gauge.

I don’t but Goodell is so inconsistent and over reactionary, I'm scared about what he might do.

couldn't agree more...some are way too sensitive

Sour grape whiners, to me they're making themselves look like petty fools and I find it amusing, you can tell the character of people when something like this happens by their reaction, if they want to make public spectacles of themselves and reveal to the world they're whiny crybaby brats, have at it.

Or you just try it with a football and a tire pressure gauge.

how accurate is the gauge?
when was it last calibrated?
who signed off on the calibration

The NFL if they're competent has to look at these kinds of things if they're not too busy laughing over the ludicrousness of the ****y loser Colts assertions
