OT: isn't this just perfect, the Raiders to interview Mangini

From your mouth to god's ears, great match for Raiders what will guarantee their descent into mediocrity for the next 5 years or so...

God bless the (non gangbanger) fans of that organization. Poor bastards.

I was thinking of demoting the Raiders from my number one hate team.

After all, Jack Tatum and Al Davis are no longer with us, I can't root against KT, and they've put in a few gutsy performances this season. But this would put them right back up there.

Make it so, Mark Davis, make it so!

I put a 25 year curse on the Raiders in 2001. Mangini could be a part of that.

He's getting as far away from the Pats as possible.

I never thought any news about that dirtbag would make me smile. But Mangina to the Raiduhs? Plz make this happen.

My worry is that Carr looks good. He might get the Raiders to 8-8 and then Mangini gets credit for bringing the Raiders back. Then Peyton and Rivers retire and the Raider win the division almost by default, and Mangini gets the credit.

Before I get a "disagree" I'm not saying he'll deserve the credit.

Note to BB:
If Ratgini goes there do NOT under any circumstances film anything

Why in God's name does this guy get chance after chance as a HC??

if im a guy who has been a head coach before, I steer clear from the raiders job. No good will come from taking over one of the worst jobs in sports, in a division that still has peyton manning occupying the qb position of the top team.

the raiders are at best an 8-8 team until peyton leaves the division. 8-8 teams don't keep their coaches very long.

Besides being a rat fink dirtbag I thought he did a pretty good job as an analyst for ESPN. Pretty much handed Rex Ryan the team he drafted with some decent fa pickups. Not sure if Mangini can coach but he is a better than average gm imo.

Just Rat baby.......

good enough for the stooly bastard.

Beat's me. He's 33-47 in the regular season, and 0-1 in the playoffs as a head coach.

Context
23-25 in NJ. Coach that followed him 46-50. Coach before him 39-41.

10-22 in Cleveland. Coach before him 18-30. Coach after him 9-23.

Mangini's record is very consistent with the franchises he has worked for.

For his sake, lets hope the Raiders have changed since Al passed.

Good info. Basically that means that Mangini is not an upgrade over the status quo. The Raiders are 11-37 under Dennis Allen/Tony Sparano. One could anticipate Mangini to average 4-12 in Oakland.

Many people considered the coaches that preceeded and followed him NJ to be good coaches. (Not me)

But the point is a bad record with bad organizations does not make a bad coach.
He was heading in the right direction with the Jets (I would argue they would have been better than 46-50 if he stayed rather than being fired to be replaced by Rex) and he really had no chance in cleveland.

Don't care for Vagini.

It goes to character with him.

I wouldn't trust him after what he did when leaving the Patriots.

With him it was all about the $$$$$$$ and screw the guy who taught him everything.

Sad that he'll be making millions with some desperate organization...

I don't hate Mangini. Not just because I'm a contrarian little ****, which I am, but because I heard 3rd hand that supposedly Spygate was not his intention. That the whole thing with the cameras was Magnini trying to F with Bill for the purposes of a little gamesmanship and then the Jets and the league ran with it and it blew up in his face.

I'm more bitter about the story that he was trying to poach assistants from us on the plane ride back from Denver.
