Some may see this as an easy question to answer and others may find this as tough as they come as i do. I can't stress just how important it is for Gronk to be on the field at all times in the playoffs for us to prosper, the Offensive production no matter how great Brady is will be slashed almost in half because of what Gronk does with the ball and without it.

Then we come to the BEST corner in the league, Darrelle Revis. It's official everyone 'Revis Island' is back. What this guy has done to our secondary and defense as a whole is sensational, he has literally raised it at least 5 levels compared to last year and he is the one that is allowing Browner to be Mr Enforcer all over the field. If the Pats do not pay this guy whatever he wants it could very well be the most egregious thing they have ever done.

Now if you were to hold a shotgun to my head and say 'one guy, who you got?' then i'll have to go with Gronk because i think what he does with Brady is unmatched but it is ever so slightly over what Revis accomplishes on D.

Luckily we don't have that dilemma and get to see both at the top of their game in Pats colours.

You forgot the all-important "@%#%! you for making me choose" option. :)

Thankfully, we don't have to choose.

Losing Revis would be ugly bad, but what would the O be like without...? [shudder]

Probably the same O that gets to AFCCG without gronk, or the one that got to the superbowl with a gronk that was hobbled.

equal imo. Three most important players on this team are Brady, Gronk and Revis.

I didn't say they'd suck, but I've had my fill of merely very good. I freely admit I'm spoiled. Given the choice between playoff caliber offense and PCO + matchup nightmare, I want the latter. Ah, what the non-hobbled outcomes might have been.

Other than Brady, Revis is our most valuable player IMO.

I think a Very good offense mixed with an Elite defense and we have a few more titles.

Imagine if we had revis/browner last year vs denver as opposed to talib/ryan.

I was thinking in terms of which unit I expect would have the greater falloff in effectiveness. I confess I twisted the definition of "important" to make my choice easier. I'm feeling lazy.

Without Revis, our Defense can hang. Without Gronk, the offense would be quite offensive. To an extent, we've seen both before.
Gronk helps the OLine with his blocking. He keeps Brady on his feet because he gets open and gets others open which doesn't force Brady to hold on to the ball until he is hit. He helps the run game. His big plays fire up the team.
Revis is awesome but it's easier to replace him than Gronk.
Yes I'm in love with the Gronko!

Love it, so beautifully split. Sorry for bringing up such a dilemma but it's not a real life one though thank god!

I dunno man, again go to the broncos game last year, with Talib the game is close, denver is having trouble moving the ball, soon as talib goes out, denver puts on a clinic.

This team falls apart without revis back there, but we still put up 25-30 points per game without gronk.

Tough call but I'll say Revis. We should all know by now D wins championships.

I'd take Revis over Sherman too. Revis seems to be a well balanced professional. Instead of that off the hook crap.

not choosing an option..both are important

I had this same conversation with a friend and just keep going back and forth. It's amazing that this team has three of the best to ever play their positions.
