ProFootballTalk is reporting the Patriots are interested in trading for a RB

I really liked Doug Martin in his rookie season but he has been a little scary lately. I think our RBs are so weak right now that it can be worth it for the right price, if he doesn't pan out then it really doesn't change much.

The Hawks reportedly told Wilson to slow down on the endorsement deals!? Seriously?
Ditto....I just read that article and my jaw dropped when I read this tidbit. RUFKM.
The Pete Carrol style of management has infected the entire organization. No singular message...just freestyle dining.
Then there is the "Letting the inmates run the asylum" approach that may get you short term success....but Pete and Wrecks prove once again that the tipping point for any team is much nearer than believed.
Imagine BB allowing Sherman to get away with his 'look at me' side show.
That all being said.......Lynch = Clock Killin Corey Dillon........get er done

OK, Martin would be getting reps instead of White or Bolden.

martin was good a few years ago, then fell off the planet.
the peyton hillis effect.

1st season - incredible, breakout player
2nd season - injured in 6th game out for year
3rd season - new coach

Who needs a RB. We have a good rookie ;)

Doug Martin hurt his ankle and left the game today for Tampa Bay.

Any trade talk may have ended with that.

Lynch would probably be a rental and a good one at that. But it probably will not happen. He already wanted a new contract with 2 years left on his deal and rumors were,he missed a lot of training camp over that. Dillon wanted to win and it wasn't so much about the money. Lynch has won and he wants the money. Not sure of the details on Lynchs final year on his deal, but if he is release able then I could see the sense in interest for a low rounder and a push for supremacy this season.

Also, the Seahawks aren't dead. Still alive and well in playoff contention. What would that say to their fans by getting rid of one of the best RBs in the game? Why would they want to at this point in the season?

I saw Zach Stacey mentioned this morning, he's a good "get what's there" guy on a cheap contract. Although I'd like to see Gray get some carries today to see what might be there first.

Stacy's pretty bad. If Blount's available (which I doubt), I'd go after him. But I don't think RB is an area of need.

Blount just fumbled on the Indy 5 with Pittsburgh driving to go back up by 2 TDs.

We probably just made inquiries, e.g., doing due diligence, and that somehow gets warped into "trading for a rb."

If we trade for anyone I'd look hard at Stacy. Liked him alot last year, I haven't seen him this year so not sure wehtehr he's regressed or if STL is just that bad. Doesn't look like any of their other backs are having much success so I'd think the latter. I like Lynch too, depends on who comes cheaper.

People can just give up on a Blount trade right now. He's one of two legitimate RBs on that roster. Their #3 "RB" is 173 pounds, so a Blount trade would put the Steelers a Bell injury away from whatever practice squad or street fodder they could get being their early down starter.

Yeah, I'm not remotely understanding why anyone thinks that LaGarrette Blount would suddenly be an option just months after Pittsburgh went out of their way to pay him and NE passed up the offer?

Belichick doesn't come off as a guy who a) admits to being "wrong" too often, or b) would suddenly agree to a deal that he just passed up on.

To top it all off, there's Pittsburgh's side of things as well, which you've already covered. They don't have anything aside from Bell.

I don't see us getting Lynch, but imagine with him and Gronk, I'd think wed have the 2 most violent offensive skill players in football.

I wonder if KC would be interested in trading Knile Davis?

Funny how this board loves Blount so much, when he fumbles more then Ridley, with less touches....
