NFL exec says AP report doesn't change what Goodell said but "if there's a delivery sitting under someone's desk there will be consequences"

Yes!. Operation scapegoat has begun...

Disgusting. Why do people like Goodell? What makes the owners like him more than anyone else who might be commissioner? There are no redeeming qualities.

Re: Spygate...

One can make the argument that basically the NFL makes up its mind and then releases the evidence or not to fit their narrative.

For all we know, the tapes destroyed would only show that he had less of a rationale than stated for the harsh penalty.
People somehow forget the tapes were shown to the whole media when walsh was brought in. they showed SD cheerleaders !. Everyone forgets this conveniently in the pats bashing.

Gawd, I was waiting to hear from you on this one!

I've been telling everybody since the spoiled little rich jock moron tried to bury us that he was a total liar....about time is all I have to say.

I think some poor underling is going to be forced to take the fall for this. Goodell needs to take the hit. I don't think the league wanted to see the video because they didn't want to be forced to give Rice a big suspension when domestic violence has historically been a slap on the wrist in the NFL.

As for the Spygate stuff, I think it doesn't really matter. I think there are people who thought things were covered up to begin with. I still go back to that if Belichick did other types of forms of cheating, why would have given it to Goodell anyway? Why not just destroy it so Goodell never knows. If there was a cover up, Belichick gave examples of other teams cheating to help his case.

Here we go...some relative nobody is about to get greased. I hope Goodell at least has the decency to pay the poor chump for her/his "falling on the sword" act. Yeah, surrre...

Ozzie newsome

Ozzie said Rice didn't lie to team officials about incident: "Ray had given a story ... and what we saw on the video was what Ray said."

Great!

The sad thing is that getting overlooked on this whole scandal is how the DA and police let this guy walk with virtually nothing. I know it is hard to prosecute domestic violence especially when the victim stands by her abuser, but they don't even need her. The video makes it a slam dunk prosecution. I think the DA needs to lose his/her job for letting Rice walk with counseling.

In other words, it wasn't a big deal to the Ravens until the public pressure forced them to cut Rice. The fact they knew what happened and didn't do anything is disgusting.

i was just reading that Harbough and the Ravens had a copy of the complete tape but "refused to look at it". They wanted plausible deniability and simply didn't WANT to know what was on that tape.

If the Ravens organization had the full tape, then Goodell HAD to have access to the full tape as well, and in my opinion, he's running scared. I can see him (and others) trying to find a scapegoat, but in the end, all that will do is funnel attention further up to the top, just like what happened with watergate, and what's happening with the Benghazi situation. The fish rots from the head down.

To paraphrase "What did the Commissioner know, and when did he know it."

Goodell is toast, because even if he finds a way to wriggle off the hook here, he'll always be hounded by doubters, and eventually someone will come forward with the truth. You can never, ever, completely bury the truth.

You're going to get your wish.

He won't be fired, though. He'll just "voluntarily resign."

As I mentioned before, and with all due respect and apologies to Bellachick who disliked my post in the other thread, someone or some group wants him out and Rice was the convenient pawn.

Everything that has been heretofore "released," has been impeccably timed.

Playing out just a little too well to be anything else.

Oh, dude, if I clicked dislike, I swear I didn't mean to! I often post on my phone and my clumsy thumb hits dislike when I mean agree! I usually correct it, I'm surprised I missed this one….I've never purposely clicked the dislike button, scouts honor!

eta: I found it and changed it.

@nflcommish ain't no fun when the rabbit got the gun huh?

Should a player who skated without missing any games when he was arrested for a domestic violence charge like Harrison be the one calling out Goodell for getting caught up giving Rice a slap on the wrist for knocking out his wife? Harrison beat up his girlfriend in 2008 and got a ZERO game suspension from the league.

I don't have a Twitter account, but someone who does please tweet Harrison and remind us how many games he was suspended for when he beat up his girlfriend.
