NFL Draft: Day 2, Rounds 2-3 Thread

I have no idea which way we'll go today - this draft has befuddled me - but I'd guess we'll end up with two of WR, RB, DE, TE by the end of today.

Tom Savage would be a terrible pick. His reads are sloooow. I think I would rather have garrapolo.

Agreed. My sister actually played Volleyball at EIU so I was on campus quite a bit. Garrapolo was always out working, and was a BEAST on gamedays. Would be perfect in McDaniels offense. Quick release and throws a good deep ball

I could also wait for David Fales from SJSU til tomorrow in the 6th or 7th. Lead the NCAA in completion percentage his junior year and outplayed Carr his senior year.

That's a well thought-out trade, but I'm honestly curious: what is it everybody sees in Coleman? He's huge but neither athletic nor powerful, and wasn't super-productive in college. I can't picture him getting any separation against NFL db's.

Many scouts have him pencilled in as a Brandon Marshall type without the jerk and rap sheet attachments. A lot of early mocks had him as a possible late first in January!.

Have you seen his play action fake handoffs. He just waves the ball in the general direction of the RB. Terrible. Keith Wenning, on the other hand, has outstanding fakes.

Garapolo cant play in the NFL. His hands are too small, he is a fumble waiting to happen

Mmmm. Keith Wennnnning.

I want Wenning, but I still suspect the Pats want McCarron.

Garoppolo's hands measured 9 1/4, Aaron Rodgers hands measure 9/3/8.

I wouldn't write off Garoppolo because of his hands.

I'll be very curious to see what the Texans do with the first pick of the second round. Quarterback is a very obvious choice: right now their options at QB are Ryan Fitzpatrick, Case Keenum and TJ Yates.

So do they draft Derek Carr? Or does McNair instruct Bill O'Brien and Rick Smith to shy away because too many Houston fans still have nightmares about the Texans winning just 23 of 79 games with David Carr under center, with 249 sacks and 65 picks in five seasons there?

I'm pretty sure the report I saw said that Garapolos hands are smaller than any current NFL QB, but I don't remember 100%.
I do remember 100% that the report showed him consistently dropping the football on the ground, and it was clear that this is a huge problem. He could be a great QB but if he fumbles all the time, I don't want him.

Jordan Matthews or ASJ for today. We need another big bodied target and I'm underwhelmed by the rest of the TE prospects. Matthews will probably be LONG gone by the time 62 comes up and ASJ probably will be too. I can still hold out hope that one or both of them falls and/or the Pats trade up.

I alway wanted Coleman, but in the 4th round or later. I think he can add an interesting red zone mismatch. BUT, my personal opinion, we need a TE first, and then maybe a center. He's not the fastest receiver, seems like it takes him a while to get up to speed when he's running. He'd be a good 4th round pick IF soem others don't fall and IF we haven't picked a WR earlier.

Unfortunately, I can see both being gone by the time we pick. You are so right, We'd probably have to trade up. I'd do it for Matthews, I REALLY like him for the Pats.

Of all the QBs, I think I like McCarron. He makes quick decisions and has played against good SEC competition, was coached by Saban, both traits that belichick values. He could improve his strength a little.

I like mettenberger as a QB, but would kraft want ben roethlisburger 2.0 after he admitted to groping a woman at a bar?

He would be a MONSTER in this offense. Brady would have to clean out his jock if we drafted Matthews.

Rapsheet claiming we will draft a QB tonight. Seems high if we are going to keep Mallett.

Count me in as a Tre Mason guy.

We have bigger needs, but I'd love to have him.
