Apparently the fact that Tom Brady isn't planning to watch the Super Bowl is worthy of being a front page headline. No doubt designed to get the predictable Brady and Patriot hater hee-hawing going.

It's a shame how much that site really has deteriorated in quality over the years. It used to be a well written and fun to read look behind the scenes look at the league with some humorous takes by Florio on the news around the NFL... and now it's nothing more than bait for clicks.

And even Florio himself admitted it with his snide closer after one of his typical Patriot hater baiting articles - "normally this isn't news but because it's the Patriots I will talk about it"...

Between him, Silver, and our local crapheads (Shaughnessy, Borges, Felger, Gasper), who needs enemies? It's amazing how dedicated these people are to taking the joy out of being a Patriots fan. I wish there was a way we could put them all on "ignore" and read/hear only the likes of Reiss, Price, Chatham, Zolak, Gresh and Perillo.

There is a way. :singing:

I don't read ANY of them unless it's a Reiss, Price, Chatham, Zolak, Chris Price, SMY etc. worthwhile article analyzed and linked here by a Pats fan.

Hat tip to all you Pats fans who do the dirty work of reading Florio, et. al. for me so I don't have to. :rocker:

Not to defend Florio...but Brady's comments are noted on SI.com, CBSSportsline.com, etc.
Sports celebs who voice opinions get coverage. This is Brady's doing.....not Florio's
PS....Manning's forehead is holding a presser at 5:30PM

True however this is more than just noting the comment... it was leading headline earlier today. Hence it being the 4th most commented story in the sidebar.... And this coming from a guy who actually said - quote- "normally this story doesn't matter but it's the Patriots so I will post it anyway"... knowing fully well that it will stir up Pats haters and get clicks on the site...

Like I said - that's what his site is all about now.

And like we're really supposed to care whether Tom Brady is or isn't going to watch the Super Bowl.

This is true. Brady could have said nothing. Or he could have lied.

On the other hand, PFT does pick and choose their stories. They could have ignored Brady's comments like they ignored about Cowher's recent comments about spygate. They also never mentioned that story with Geno Smith and the woman who posted all the tweets and the lil' Favre pic he sent her.

You have to wonder if they would do the same if Cowher said it was a big deal.

I recall a PFT piece either earlier this season or in the off- season. Anyway, it was something about the Patriots, I don't recall the specific topic, but Florio ended with a sentence such as, "...not sure what the Patriots were up to here, but there are plenty of us who suspect they're always up to something.". What a pretentious, phony dink...

Why should he have to? You can be fairly certain that somebody directly asked him if was going to watch the Super Bowl or not. Then they come away with a soundbyte and make a whole story out of it. That's the media for you. Also what happens is that once somebody CREATES a story like this, the other media sources follow suit. It's one of the latest headlines on the front page of nfl.com right now, too.

It's just everywhere, and it's a non-story really. I found it interesting for about 2 seconds, if that. Not like you can judge the guy either way for not wanting to watch the game if you're being rational.

I went through about five comments and three of them labelled Brady a sore loser and/or crybaby. That place is a ****ing cesspool.

fwiw, Brady has said in the past that he doesn't watch the Super Bowl if he's not playing in it. Even at Super Bowl XL, he flipped the coin and then left the stadium.

The benefits of living half a way a world away from the team. I only hear and see what I want to hear and see.

Haven't clicked PFT in over six years, and have no intention whatsoever of doing so in the future.

Brady NEVER watches the Super Bowl unless he's playing in it, this hardly is news. Years ago he was appointed to participate in the Super Bowl coin flip. After fulfilling his duty, he left the stadium and caught a flight. This is just another case of Florio exercising his Patriots hate.

I met this clown once about six years ago at a function at the Ritz Carlton in Beantown. I was with a couple of childhood friends from RI who pitched in the majors, Anyway, my buds and I were mingling with various sports celebs and this little sawed off dweeb comes up to my buddy, Mike, an ex-pitcher for the Sox at one point, and introduces himself as if he's some important bigshot. So both my friends shake his hand and he goes to shake mine and I told him "get the f-ck outta here punk..". That's how he came across to me, as a friggin' little sawed off punk wearing a cheap suit and a 2 dollar tie. I wish I knew then what I know now about this jerkoff, I'd have given him a swift kick in the ass.

Are you saying, Joe, that this incident happened before 2007?

Standard lawyer, no clients, starts NFL blog, gets some TV gig, gets out of West Virginia, acts like Borges, Shaughnessy and others to get ratings, clicks and so on. It's a well trodden path. Nothing to see here.

nah...it was the end of the 2007 baseball season...I never put it together until I saw his stupid mugshot a few years later at PFT

You were right to treat him with no respect; his mud-slinging about CameraGate
had already begun.

Stoney, you've been around here long enough to know me pretty well. I'm a gregarious person. I'd give you the shirt off my back figuratively. I was a multi sport athlete when I was younger and learned a healthy respect for others. Treat people with respect and they'll treat you accordingly. This tenet is lost on these friggin' sawed off runts though. Florio, Masserotti et al....they get away with running their little mouths because they know no one is going to fold their bluffing hands at the risk of being cast as a bully. Patriots fans should always remember the Patrick Sullivan incident and realize that sometimes the bull gives the toreador the horns...

some day Florio is going to pick the wrong fight....and out will go the lights....I look forward to it.

Other times he does post articles about his son as if his son is going to be a First round pick in the draft, win multiple superbowls and then end up going to the HOF.

So its either "Pats are bad" or "My son is so good ...... blah blah blah"

Ever notice that Florio looks like a ventriloquist's dummy on television? You sort of expect the camera to pan to the left and reveal his puppeteer. (Roger Goodell, perhaps?)
