Mike Brown is a real genius

How the hell does he field a team then? Most of his players are POS...

I love how everyone seems smart in retrospect

Well to give Mike credit he does have more experience dealing with these types than any other person in the NFL...so I wouldn't be surprised if he has developed a sixth sense to sniff the scumbags out.

No? :confused2:

Indeed. I've always been surprised at why the Bengals haven't changed their stripes from black & orange to black & white.

Hey Mike! Odell Thurman, Chris Henry, and Jerome Simpson say "Hi!".

And let's not forget the Bengals had no problem adding Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, and Cedric Benson.

Yeah, where was Mike Brown when Gronk had a historic year for TEs and Hernandez had a better season than Jermain Gresham ever had in 2011 (Hernandez had 910 yards and 7 TDs vs. Gresham's best year of 737 yards and 5 TDs in 2012)?

And BTW Mike, Gronk has yet to miss a single game because of his back and he may not start this season. And Gronk at 80% is better than Gresham at 110%.

I'm at the point that I want every journalist that writes a cookie cutter article about how the "signs were there" or every NFL exec that claims that "Hernandez was a bad guy" etc... to be charged with Obstruction of Justice for failing to report a crime. Because clearly they should have seen that Ahern was a serial killer, I mean after all it was so obvious to them when the Pats drafted him.

The funny thing is year after year, the Bengals get these guys with huge question marks in the draft like Thurman and Henry in lower rounds and get their ball washed for getting first round talent in the second and third rounds. And almost every year, the Bengals drafts are busts.

I bet you if the Bengals didn't get Gresham in the first (who is an above average TE, but no where near top 5), they would have drafted Gronk in the second. And if they didn't get Gronk, I would be you they would have drafted Hernandez.

The only foresight Brown and his staff had was they overdrafted Gresham and they had no need for a TE when Gronk and Hernandez were available in subsequent rounds.

This. Couldn't have said it better. Thank you.

What a newsworthy headline. Like I give a crap about what the Bengals do. Who asked them anyway?

Mike Brown is the absolutely last person in the NFL to be talking about another team's personnel decisions and implicitly second guessing them, given the history of the Bengals during his tenure.

I suppose after having back to back winning seasons for the first time since he took over for his father (whose football genes he obviously did not inherit), he is starting to feel pretty confident and good about himself.

Just imagine what he'll be like if his team ever actually wins a playoff game.

A poor turn of phrase, but I'd kill for Gresham and Eifert right now.

Mike got ****y after Vontaze Burfict managed to rescue his career from the trash heap. But I think the fuse is burning on Burfict too; he's wound way too tight.

LOL, can't say ****y.

:ditto:

Give me a break. Mike Brown calling us out for drafting this guy is Larry Flynt calling Hugh Hefner a pervert.

I don't put stock in anything Mike Brown says because he has proven for years that all he cares about is profit. As long as the team generates enough revenue, they can go 1-15 every year. Why anyone would be a Bengals fan while he owns the club is beyond me.
